I have this bug as well with the same hardware.  I have found a (not
great) workaround.  I'm using Mythbuntu 11.10.

Using xrandr, I change the resolution to 800x600, then reflect xy, and
then reflect normal.  At this point the s-video looks correct.  This
workaround does not work using archlinux with kernel 3.1.6.

the bug was open, and patch was writen. The autor of patch, asking the guy that 
report this bug - Is this work? But no answer. I found the kernel with this 
patch in kernel ppa http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/  and for me 
the bug was fixed. This is the kernel that work fine for me

  I thought that the patch is now official and will haven't more problems, but 
... now in 10.10 the problem still exist. I lost the old bug report, and start

Yes, the problem still exist in Natty.  I try with Unity, then try in
gnome without compiz, same effect. I can't atach the gdm log, because
Ubuntu crashed when trying to collect data.

Hi, have you had a chance to test if this bug is still present in natty?

If it does (and if you're the original reporter), please boot into natty
and run the command:

  apport-collect bug-number

which will update the bug with fresh logs and tag the bug as affecting
natty.  (It is best to run this right after reproducing the problem.)
