[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 740785] Re: Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting
nierce, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given you already have done this in a prior release, performing this on a release prior to Trusty would not be helpful. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 740785] Re: Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Server aborting
Updating from 13.04 to 13.10 I get a segfault when executing Xephyr as following : Xephyr :3 -screen 1440x900x16 DISPLAY=:3 metacity The segfault message : (EE) (EE) Backtrace: Avertissement du gestionnaire de fenêtres : Erreur fatale d'E/S 11 (Ressource temporairement non disponible) sur le visuel « :3 ». [1]+ Erreur de segmentation (core dumped) Xephyr :3 -screen 1440x900x16 The cause seems comes from the 16 color parameter but if I set 24 instead of 16 it works fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740785 Title: Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). Closing the lightdm, unity, etc component the issue affect those but it's not in their code. The bug seems to mix several issues, could you get a stacktrace and an Xorg.0.log from a config having the issue, on precise would be better.
