I did that, but Apport wanted me to do report another package for this
(xorg-server).

Anyway, I did it there :

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 769477] Re: XServer crashes when I use xsetwacom !

2011-05-16 Thread Favux
In addition to this possibly related bug report:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xf86-input-
wacom/+bug/782756 a couple of forum members have reported what sounds
like the same bug. A Cintiq:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1062625page=5 and a Bamboo:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10819283postcount=751

Interestingly the Cintiq user has now moved on to Debian testing
(Wheezy) and even after updating to xf86-input-wacom-0.11.0 no longer
sees the segmentation fault with his touch strips or pad buttons as he
did in Natty. Neither did he see it in Maverick. So this does not
appear to be a xf86-input-wacom bug. Or at least not solely.

I do not encounter this issue with my Bamboo Pen and Touch tablet.
BambooPT's export touch as a separate kernel device and the pad is a
dependent of touch not the stylus as it is for other tablets.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 769477] Re: XServer crashes when I use xsetwacom !

2011-05-03 Thread Bryce Harrington
Please collect a full backtrace on this crash - see
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing for guidance.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-wacom

I installed Natty from scratch with the Beta 2, and it's of course up to date
since.
I have a Wacom Intuos3, and when I set anything with the xsetwacom program,
it's ok, until I make any use of what has been configured.

  E.g, if I set :
- xsetwacom set Wacom Intuos3 9x12 pad StripLeftUp key f
+ xsetwacom set Wacom Intuos3 9x12 pad StripLeftUp key f
And make any use of the strip, the XServer crashes immediately.

  If I set :
xsetwacom set Wacom Intuos3 9x12 pad Button 1 key y
And make any use of the Button number one, it just crashes, and so on I think
you got it.

If I don't try to change the shortcuts with xsetwacom, the defaults just
respond as expected.
So when it crashes, the screen just goes out for a second, and I'm on GDM the
second after, waiting for me to login.

  Wacom Intuos3 9x12, Ubuntu Natty 64, i7 950 | 8 GB | GTX 460 with
proprietary drivers, Ubuntu classic session (so without Unity enabled,
if this is of any help).

If you need any information that I don't have yet supplied, please be my
guest :).
  Thanks a lot !
