Title:
Musescore 2.0.3 problem in UM 16.04 LTS

Status in ubuntu-mate:
  Invalid
Status in musescore package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  As per title.

This problem exists irrespective of whether installed from the
software boutique or from a terminal

  First issue:

Musescore locks up on launch when trying to select initial type of
score. It does this the majority of the time. Sometimes it eventually
unlocks and allows one to continue. Sometimes it crashes completely
  and closes

  Second issue:

Assuming one has got past the initial lock up and has got Musescore
fully open, many of the menu items are fantastically tiny such that
they are impossible to visually identify or use.

This seems to be a problem limited to the version that UM 16.04 is
  using:

I have just installed Lubuntu 16.04 in a VM and installed Musescore
from a terminal. It turns out the version it is using is 2.0.2. So,
one iteration below the one used by UM. I can confirm none of these
problems are present in the Lubuntu version of Musescore.

Bug description:
In Ubuntu 16.04 Noto Sans CJK is the default font for rendering
Chinese. After having struggled with a few issues, I believe that we
finally achieved the desired improvement of the rendering experience.

So now I ask: Is there an interest from Japanese and Korean users to
consider a switch to Noto Sans? (The fonts are already installed for
  all users on Ubuntu 16.04.)

Just adding that this also affects Fujifilm X-T20, for easier finding of
this thread by owners of this model googling around (which was to be
expected as it is a close cousin of X-T2).

[Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1682919] Re: new install of phatch is broken out-of-box

2017-11-13 Thread Nick Evans
@florin 's solution of 2017-05-06 worked for me also - for the benefit
of people who might be a bit stuck with implementing it - as I would
have been a few years ago:

Open terminal
sudo nautilus (or whatever your file manager is - enter your admin password at
prompt)

this will open your file manager with admin rights

navigate to /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PIL/Image.py

open this file with a text editor or - my preferred option - Bluefish
(this means you can just enter the line number to find the bit to
change)

Comment out the lines (or just copy and paste this

` """if not isinstance(size, (list, tuple)):
raise ValueError("Size must be a tuple")
 """`

to replace the un-commented lines

Save the file

Run Phatch jut like you did on 14.x :)
