[uClinux-dev] uClinux-2.6 & RTAI-3.5

2007-08-28 Thread Bob Furber
I wonder if anyone has used the new RTAI with uClinux-2.6?

On a ColdFire?

Care to share your experiences?

Thanks,

[uClinux-dev] Reliability of the data/address bus

2007-08-28 Thread Tan Teik Chuan

Hi,

My company is developing one device which consist of LCD, SDRAM, and Flash
using uClinux as the platform. The LCD, SDRAM, and Flash are sharing the same
data/address bus.

Is there any utility that can be used for testing the reliability of the
data/address bus from the view of SDRAM and Flash?

Thanks.

Regards
Tan Teik Chuan

No, I said the latest _test_ release.
The current 20070130 is essentially the same as snapgear-3.4.

Regards
Greg

I tried it. But still i am getting the same error. If anyone succeeded
please let me know how to compile perl for ARM ixp425 arch.

Thanks.

[uClinux-dev] (no subject)

2007-08-28 Thread Jeff Fellin
Hello,
I’m cross posting this on the MTD and microblaze mailing lists for
assistance with this problem.
Background:
I have a system with 3 flash partitions on a Spansion S29GL512N flash chip
with a 16-bit wide data bus, on a microblaze unix from Petalogix
distribution v0.20-rc3. When I boot the system with a Linux 2.4.32-uc0 there
are no CRC errors on any of the flash partitions. However when I boot the
Linux-2.6.20-uc0 on the same flash unit I get many CRC errors on the flash
partitions. I have modified fs/jffs/scan.c to display the entire node that
had the CRC error, after the message. The thing I’ve noticed is even though
the displayed nodes are different the calculated CRC is the same. Could
there be an error in reading the data from the flash or some sort of cache
error?

Sorry for the line wraps, the text editor has a fixed line length.

Notice the calculated CRC for the 2, 3, and 4 node is the same.

[uClinux-dev] Module Compilation Problem on uClinux 2.4 when including fs.h

2007-08-28 Thread knosiion

Hello. This is my first run at writing a device driver "module" for the
ColdFire under uClinux 2.4 (uClinux-dist-20070130.tar.gz), and I'm having a
problem when I try to include fs.h. I narrowed the problem to the fs.h file
itself. A .c file ONLY containing the include statement generates the same
list of errors - below. I can build (and did) build the entire kernel on this
computer (m68k-elf-gcc 2.95.3), so it must be in basic working order. Also,
the source files compile without incident under the computer's native gcc.
What have I done to deserve this??

[uClinux-dev] kernel lock debug parameters

2007-08-28 Thread Jeff Fellin

Hello,
I am cross posting this on the microblaze and uclinux mail lists, since I'm
not sure where the problem may be.

I am generating a system from the Petalogix v0-20.rc3 distribution and am
experiencing system hangs after the system has been in multi-user for less
than a minute. My gut reaction is one of my device drivers is deadlocked on
a spinlock. So, I compiled the system enabling the various kernel lock debug
flags: DEBUG_SPINLOCK, DEBUG_MUTEXES, DEBUG_RWSEMS, and
DEBUG_SPINLOCK_SLEEP.
When I boot the system with these config options the system hangs with no
output
after displaying the line:
Found romfs @ 0x2c19b08c (0x0016800)
### klimig 2c1b2000 ###
Moving 0x00168000 bytes from 0x2c19b08c to 0x2c1b1d6c
  New klimit: 0x2c31a000

Bottom line question is do these debug options work in this distribution.
If so, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with setting the options.

My .config file is attached.

Thank you in advance for your help
