This highly complex discipline had such an impact, in part, because Leibniz, born on this day in 1646, was committed to communicate it as simply as possible. Author Jason Bardi explained how Leibniz loved "simplicity in discourse" and saw the need to describe his discoveries in "a clear and compact language." Because of this commitment, he developed the symbols for differential and integral calculus, as we know them today. He was responsible for the introduction of the integral sign, which is still used. Many people are discouraged when they face something that seems complex. Even the Bible itself can seem hard to understand at times. God's Word is filled with mysteries. We see this in Jesus' parables, in which He spoke of "things hidden since the foundation of the world" *(Matthew 13:35). * But we need to realize that God has made it possible for us to understand these mysteries. Paul said that "the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations...has now been manifested to His saints" *(Colossians 1:26).* Paul knew that God had called him to explain these mysteries and communicate them clearly to both Believers and unbelievers. The Bible is filled with profound truths which are buried like hidden treasures, but ready to be discovered. God wants to reveal these truths to you. Dig deep. Seek His wisdom. Let His Spirit guide you *(John 16:13).* Be ready to proclaim "the mystery of the Gospel," to share your faith with others, and to make it clear.
