This is after press reports that President Museveni through the National Political commissar Dr. Crispus Kiyonga wants to initiate talks with the DP. A statement signed by the DP Spokesman Jude Mbabali confirms that the state had contacted the party about the talks though informally. Mbabali writes that the development is a timely opportunity to the DP to comprehensively play its role in consolidating democracy.
