- Saturday, June 4 "The Power of Names in Irish Family History" 10:30
AM - Noon CDT (UTC-5) Instructor: David Ouimette $15 members ; $20
non-members
About this class-
Cluster genealogy focuses on researching extended family and Irish
neighbors who may have the same origins as your illusive immigrant
ancestors. Surname heat maps leverage the idea that your Irish
ancestors and their surnames were likely tied to specific parishes
over several generations; creating heat maps for multiple surnames
reveals where the family names were collocated in Ireland. All three
of these techniques capitalize on the power of names in Irish family
history.

CDT (UTC-5) Instructor: Paul MacCotter

the key issues, challenging the many myths and legends and replacing
them with the true picture of who are the Irish and what is their
history.

history periodicals and magazines. Once you locate an article you are
interested in, with the information provided by PERSI you can order a
copy, for a fee, through the Allen County Public Library (ACPL).

Samples of two articles are

"Caroline Browne's unusual burial requests, d. 1842, County Tyrone,
Ireland" which was published in the 'Irish Genealogical Research
Society Newsletter', Vol. 3, Issue 10, and in Apr 2003.

"County Monaghan immigrants in Consett, Eng., 1842+"
which was published in the 'Clogher Record' Vol. 16, Issue 1, and in
the year 1997.
