Apologies for the late response. Thanks, the patch worked.

I should have thought to give gmake a try, it's been a while since
I've had to compile anything from source.

Hi Nadine,

The respip.lo is not getting included in the link line.

Does this diff solve the problem?  It omits += from the Makefile.

If that does not work, perhaps use gmake?
