Japanese pronunciation of hex digits?
How do the Japanese read the hex digits A thru F? I have a pretty good idea how they probably write them. Although, there are so many Han characters out there I wouldn't be surprised if someone came up with Han characters for powers of 16, complete with pronunciations. ** 11-Digit Boy ** My site is: http://members.spree.com/entertainment/11digitboy Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1
Mixing languages on a Web site
I am mixing Japanese and Turkish letters on my site. 1) How do I convert Latin-* text to UTF-8 text? 2) How do I convert Shift-JIS text to UTF-8 text? 3) How do I mark text as UTF-8? 4) Will people actually be able to SEE BOTH the Japanese AND the Turkish? 5) Is there a little "formatted in Unicode" logo I can put on my site? 6) Is there a "Unicode Help" site so people like me don't have to post these questions on lists like these? I bet 1 and 2 could be done with CGI scripts, and 3 is trivial. Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1
The Roman numerals for dozenal digits??
Only if you call "V" the same glyph as "5" I want the new digits to be: U+218A DUODECIMAL DIGIT TEN aka TURNED DIGIT TWO U+218B DUODECIMAL DIGIT ELEVEN aka REVERSED DIGIT THREE Don't worry; I'll be filling out the form in my best cursive :) The reason I chose these codepoints is because they end in the hex digits for ten and eleven. I think that this is the most logical place to put these new characters. Phonetic?
Exactly what constitutes a phonetic sound, besides being made by a human being? I mean, clapping isn't phonetic, is it? Looking up han characters
How do I look up a han character if I don't know its codepoint? What if all I have is its shape, or its EUC-JP or Shift-JIS number? There are a couple I want to see. What forms?

In particular in botany and zoology also a symbol for hermaphroditic animals (e.g. snails) and plants is used. It is a combination of U+2640 and U+2642 (with only one circle). Do you have these characters?
Has Unicode, by any name, the two mutant digits in the attached file? If not, I want to add them. (No, not add them to get dozenal 19, I know that's what they add up to; I mean add them to Unicode!) ** 11-Digit Boy ** My site is: http://members.spree.com/entertainment/11digitboy Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 dozprime.pdf
No, they're not.

Okay. I'll see what I can do.
If this paint program will cooperate, maybe I can make images of those characters. Gender symbols
I'd think a down-pointing triangle would be for the LADIES' room, for obvious reasons How about male and female Nidoran at a Pokémon convention? Once in a book I saw a top hat and top of a cane for the men's room and a fan for the ladies' room. I would suggest the digits 0 and 1, except then I would have a thousand heel marks on my body. Anybody else got ideas? ** 11-Digit Boy ** My site is: http://members.spree.com/entertainment/11digitboy Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1
