Using Mozilla, I e-mailed an UTF8-message to my own Hotmail address:
Subject: =?UTF-8?B?VW5pa29kZS1wcsO4dmU=?=
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
When I received it in Hotmail, it contained:
So that every character > U+00ff were rendered as two- or
three-sequences of ISO 8859-1 -characters.
The way it has 'always' been ...
