[UC] did you lose your dog?

2009-05-07 Thread Elaine Jenson
what appears to be a lost dog spotted this morning going north on 46th Street
outside Marty Cabry's house; crossed fearlessly in middle of street toward
Melani Lamond's. Other dog owner lost sight/track of dog after he/she got to
46th and Springfield. Small-medium black poodle type--smaller than Gables BB's
Oscar. I couldn't tell if there was a collar or tags. Please alert all dog
owners/lovers in case this description matches a lost or missing dog

Thanks!

RE: [UC] summary of shoe repair replies + update

2009-05-07 Thread Ana Kostich

A great shoe repair store: work done in the shop by Pat himself with excellent
material. He is VERY busy [recession bust] but was still able to accommodate me
with the next day service for two pairs of heel repairs [both, to match]. Very
nice guy. Wholehearted recommendation.
$8.50/pair. Cliff's price was $12/pair and a few days to pick up [as they are
taken for the repair out of the shop].

It should be quite warm this Saturday in the park -- nice weather for
the May Fair! There is a 30% risk of showers, diminishing as the day
wears on.

Still, it'll be t-shirt weather. And if *you are wearing* a Friends of
Clark Park t-shirt, you can take shelter under the FoCP canopy. Come
learn about the many ways you can play a personal role in supporting and
rehabilitating the cherished grounds where the May Fair takes place. And
get your t-shirts; and your reusable shopping bags (supermarket bags are
about to cost money, so go green now).

If you were unable to make the Party for the Park fundraiser this
evening, which brings in the money that maintains the park in
summertime, in this era of grim government cutbacks ... stop by our
table and make a donation. $10, $20, $50 ... every dime helps. (Yes, we
take credit cards.) If we all pitch in what we can, the community can
keep University City's key public spaces alive and healthy even when
economic skies are gray.
