[UC] Fwd: Missing grey cat - 49th Cedar
Begin forwarded message: From: Gail Massey gail.mas...@gmail.com Date: April 8, 2011 8:54:45 AM EDT I was asked to forward this. -- Forwarded message -- From: Amy Hoover ahooverdes...@gmail.com Date: Thu, Apr 7, 2011 at 10:31 PM Subject: Missing cat To: 4900-ce...@googlegroups.com 4900-ce...@googlegroups.com Hi. We are the new neighbors at 4905 Cedar. Thanks to those of you who welcomed us on my test email earlier. My husband and I returned from a work trip yesterday to discover that our cat has gone missing. He is not an outdoor cat, but we fear he may have panicked and run outside when one of our contractors left a door open. Our cat is a short-haired gray cat with green eyes. He would answer to the name Marcel but is quite skittish. I suspect he has found somewhere close by to hide. If you have seen him please let us know. We are heart broken to have lost him. Thanks, Amy, Chris and Declan

[UC] Fwd: parking lot or garden center?
Begin forwarded message: From: Jennifer Klapper dragonspaintbr...@yahoo.com Date: April 8, 2011 2:26:05 PM EDT To: pf...@ccat.sas.upenn.edu Subject: [PFSNI] parking lot or garden center? To my neighbors: I just heard from our neighbor Milan that there are plans to convert the vacant lot at 51st and Baltimore into a parking lot for Francis Funeral Home and about an alternative proposal to use the lot as a space to build a garden center. I want you to know that with due respect to Francis Funeral Home, I wonder if a parking lot is the best option for a busy commercial strip on which we've just spent many thousands of dollars to install pedestrian lighting. As an area resident I believe the area has ample parking. Also, a garden center would not only provide an important retail connection between 52nd St and Baltimore Ave, it would fill a long time need and wish of the community. Jannie Blackwell's office indicates that unless there are a good number of concerned e-mails very quickly, the parking lot would get the green light. An email about this would need to go to these 4 people, if you're interested in weighing in on this: marty.ca...@phila.gov sandy.ha...@phila.gov john.coa...@phila.gov westphillyurbanlivingstudio@ gmail.com Thanks to all! [UC] No shutdown of the many wars
Wake up! The bipartisan shut down brought to you on corporate media is a deliberate performance designed to distract you from the war funding. The empire, wars and the for profit health system are the budget problem!! America, your enslavement is coming rapidly if you don't open your eyes and stop believing the lies. Power to the workers of the world, Glenn You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named UnivCity. To unsubscribe or for archive information, see http://www.purple.com/list.html.
Re: [UC] It is Round Up in Clark Park
On 4/6/11 1:37 PM, Glenn wrote: I just spoke to the landscaping crew in the fenced off portion of Clark Park. The unknown chemical that is being sprayed on Clark Park, as I write this, is the herbicide, Round-Up. About two years ago, I witnessed the same procedure and reported the event to this public list. But the FOCP and UCD claimed that the only chemical EVER used on Clark Park was an organic fertilizer. But we know from the devastation and the early signs posted that they have been dumping this poison, twice a year, for about ten years. (Apparently, they must be telling the workmen to no longer put up the warning signs. The workman was blamed for putting out the signs by MISTAKE when I caught them two years ago!) I was called the usual names when I reported the incident. And we were all told that everyone outside the secret and anonymous Clark Park Partnership should never be believed regarding Clark Park. I'd estimate about 20 gallons of empty bottles were being cleared as I spoke to them. There is know way to know the total amount of the poison being used today. I watched the workman soak the tree roots of just 1 tree with a huge amount. Please go down immediately and ask the supervisor to confirm the name of this poison. I've been told that people no longer doubt me so much or believe the pack of lies like they once did. Nevertheless, I hope someone corroborates this important fact! Glenn glenn, perhaps a petition opposing the use of harmful inorganic sprays in the park could be set up at the next clark park farmer's market. surely the buyers and sellers at the farmer's market would find such sprays objectionable; and in any case, anyone at the farmer's market would be interested in learning about what was actually being sprayed in the park. ..
