[UC] Re: [UCNeighbors] This is a hoot!
How sweet it is, K.T., indeed... Did you notice later that the networks interrupted programming shortly before 11pm, and as a result, preempting the conclusion of Trump's show The Apprentice... so ironically, just minutes before the payoff moments... and then later, after 11pm, the President's Osama bin Laden has been killed announcement came on TV and soon it was 'over trumping Trump's best trump card'. So the man who may or may not have colluded with others in high places, in precipitating global wars, who may or may not have prevented news of false election results in the U.S. from being more timely revealed, and the man who so many of us have tended to blame for trillions of dollars and millions of lives having been spent combatting evil - will not account for - nor be accused in court - of anything. How sad that is. I still kind of wonder why, while we gave Iraq's 'tyrant' over to the Iraqis while he was still alive, but having already killed him, we are apparently bringing Osama bin Laden's body back to the U.S. instead of sending it to Saudi Arabia. Now, if people could only just allow the many living detainees to be brought over from Gitmo to access a fair public trial by competent civilians, we then perhaps still would not look nearly so hypocritical... but as some will point out, at least we don't live in sheer hell and we get a lot more than ice water to drink. Re: [UC] Important fraud article, teacher evaluation
Nicely put Glenn. The idiots who refer to this list as the shouting list, as well as the uninformed kindly and intelligent ones.. should read your comments! But if they're stuck in the being selfish bigoted prigs thingy it probably would not be much succor...?!?! Bonne Nuit, Monsieur Glenn!!! Rick, I didn't see the movie, but read an analysis and it was either covered on Grit TV or Democracy Now. Yes, it was propaganda to keep fooling people. Some charters receive enormous temporary supplemental corporate money, which is downplayed. As you note, one reason is to create a success that can never again be replicated, creaming. This Harlem system had things like tutoring, counseling and ancillary services for the parents and students! Well yea, they got success! Give resources for these evidence based interventions to public schools that don't receive hidden resources, and they will get better outcomes too! Downplaying this temporary funding is a big fraud that is reinforced in the propaganda literature, and backed up by the pathetic corporate media. Centralized power: Yes centralized power is a huge problem being protected. The power brokers have confused and misled Americans to accept some ridiculous concepts to continue their power, while also diverting more money to cronies throughout their network. Ridiculous: 1. Teachers can be reduced to technicians delivering an exact system to all students. 2. A few great men can create a manual driven curriculum or a single perfect evaluation instrument. (That is a corporate/university model used to maximize profit, while keeping professionals beaten down and intimidated.) These failed concepts serve elite centralized power, but hurt the interests of society. Evaluations, as a part of good professional development, would use real people and would be done locally. Instruments to collect statistical data can be appropriate tools, but cannot be used for evaluations the way the singular focus on test data has been used. Elitism centered at universities is a big part of this absurdity. (I know many of the great men, personally) But good evaluations would immediately uncover the secrets that centralized power will not allow the American people to discuss. The funding gap, lack of programs and staff, etc. would immediately be reported by evaluators going into different schools! Good evaluations will only be allowed if we demand a Marshall plan for public education and tax the super wealthy and corporate persons! That is why more people need to see through these massive frauds, and be able to reject these absurd concepts used in the war against public education. It's not important for everyone to do the analysis of education themselves, but it is monumentally important for our fellow citizens to learn to detect these massive frauds encircling our society! I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. [UC] Anyone recognize this tabby ?
Since this kitty was recently found and was already fixed, I thought I'd forward this around incase someone recognizes him. Have already checked through recent postings to our lists. -LLfrom craigslist:Nice Tabby - free to a good home (West Philadelphia)Date: 2011-05-02, 5:22PM EDTReply to: see below[Errors when replying to ads?]Meet Crook. We found this cat on Pine St. near Malcolm X Park. He followed us home, we noticed how skinny he was and we gave him some food. We took him to the vet where we found out that he is a neutered male. He had an ingrown claw removed and was tested and was negative for parasites/worms and feline AIDS/leukemia. He also was given a rabies shot and antibiotics. He is the nicest cat I've ever met; he acts more like a dog. He lays on the sofa with us, he's never been aggressive towards anyone. We simply can't afford to take care of him. We'll include any leftover food we have, his dish, his litter box, any leftover litter, one toy and the scooper for the litter box. We also have his rabies tag for a collar and a certificate of health. Anyone interested can send me an e-mail at cdknigh...@gmail.com.
