[UC] Found Rotweiller (dog)
Anyone know of a lost Rottweiler in the area? Please pass this around... Tony Nixon found this Rottweiler Tuesday morning, near the VA Hosp. I also heard from a neighbor that the same dog was seen around 43rd Larchwood Monday night around 11pm. The dog is currently with someone Tony knows, so is safe. I'm also curious to know if anyone else saw this pooch in the neighborhood -- and where... -L inline: RottieFoundUC.JPG
[UC] Free -- three toner cartridges compatible with...
I got three laser toner cartridges incompatible with my HP printer. I opened the packaging on one, which is how I determined it didn't fit. The other two are virgin. More trouble getting a refund for returning them (Amazon.com) than it's worth. If anyone can use them, they can have them for free. According to the box, they're compatible with HP Laserjets model numbers: 1012, 1018, 1020, 1022, 3015, 3020, 3030, and 3050. E-mail me for a time to pick them up (at my office -- 45th Walnut -- across from Second Mile Center). First come, first served. - Alan Krigman KRF Management, ICON/Information Concepts Inc 211 S 45th St, Philadelphia PA 19104-2918 215-349-6500, fax 215-349-6502 krf...@aol.com or al.krig...@krf.icodat.com

[UC] Censorship day tribute
I want to congratulate the victory of Upenn and ucneighbors on censorship day! Censorship Celebration Walking down the Darkling Trail My neighbors leapt upon the rail Secure the Mighty; a message whole Trade the children's hope and soul Hookers and criminals in the park Those words were not a simple lark The omnipotent cleanser scrubs the land All truth and dissent are turned to sand Civility was their righteous battle cry No mention of their chance to lie Their hearts were pure, they told us so And we of the ghetto, are the scum below And the local college which turned to shit Crafted trespassing rules for the park permit And heroes were clubbed and pepper sprayed In Oakland, Atlanta, to West Philly's betrayed Howdy neighbors, come sing along Thoughts and dissent are always wrong It's upscale lattes, we love the most For all we care, The Others are toast So the Master created the censorship list 'Cause the Master's pawns were thoroughly pissed Now, dear leaders' visions; educate us all The Bill of Rights is dead, dissenters must fall I saw in a forwarded post that the censor of ucneighbors was promoting UCD escorts as the solution for the recent crime stories on UCneighbors-hahaha. Golly, Kyle, does Penn think crime stories prove that we need a NID to protect the good people? Golly gee, I thought this became a crime free paradise the moment Penn demanded control of this once great community??? Don't criminals know that our nascent upscale paradise has upscale lights and upscale marketing, keeping the good folks cleaner and safer? If the lies and propaganda of the past decade were not so tragic, the unbelievable ignorance we've seen in our 'hood would make an hilarious comedy!

Re: [UC] RE: [UCNeighbors] Girl Scout Troops in the area?
Check out the link below. It's a bit confusing, but one thing for sure is that there should be Girl Scouts selling cookies outside the Wawa at 36th Chestnut for a couple of days in February. Apparently the sale starts tomorrow and goes through early March. You can always try calling the Girls Scouts of Southeastern PA if you can't find anyone selling. I've seen girls by the 30th and Market Market Street Line stop in past years so I will be on the lookout for them for sure! Good luck! http://www.gsep.org/cookies/cookie-booths.php On Jan 15, 2012, at 5:22 PM, bill sanderson wrote: Ditto – thanks for asking! In reaction to the efforts to boycott Girl Scout cookies because of the troop that accepted a transgendered scout, many of my co-workers and friends are looking for girls selling cookies -- to buy them, not to boycott them. [UC] NID, Dilworth and privatization (links)
Below is some coverage of the latest attempt to destroy a community with a NID in the Chinatown area. City council attempted to defy the state NID creation law, even though residents heroically met the ridiculously high standard to reject a NID outright. It seems that city council, the mayor, Alan Greenberger, and Paul Levy apparently wanted an unaccountable hand picked board not even required to live in PA. I'm very happy for our brothers and sisters in Chinatown, for now; but this latest push to privatize, gentrify, and defy the will of the people is an issue for all Philadelphians. NIDS/BIDS are designed to divide the city, shifting governmental control to corporate experts. All Philadelphians are taxed to secure grants for corporate NID projects, while destroying vital services for most neighborhoods. The NID areas are brutally gentrified by eradicating the poor, senior citizens, etc. through LI, trash tickets, and various other enforcement or taxing agencies. And public spaces within the NID are privatized like city hall and Clark Park have been. Citizens of the lower economic classes can then be arrested as trespassers on formerly public spaces, like over 5000 brothers and sisters at occupations around the country have been arrested and brutalized. (Note: Control of public spaces are privatized eliminating citizen rights. Ownership of public space still resides with the taxpayers for the singular purpose of directing tax dollars to private cronies. That's the current model for eliminating public spaces.) Don't believe for a second that either Chinatown or West Philly is safe from the NID threat! Just like Dilworth plaza and Clark Park, the plutocracy works secretly on multi-year master plans, while activists struggle to pay their various fines! We know that city council is ready to obey their masters and defy the will of the people, secretly and in the dead of night. (City Hall was rented for $1 to CCD on the winter solstice of 2010. The typical Christmas surprise tactic.) Weekly Press http://weeklypress.com/proposed-callowhill-reading-viaduct-nid-receives-pocket-veto-big-win-for-p2908-1.htm PlanPhilly coverage (Planphilly is a propaganda organization. When Dilworth plaza was quietly privatized, such propaganda outlets became the only public notice to inform the citizens that Dilworth plaza was being revitalized aka stolen.) http://planphilly.com/councilman-dicicco-amends-callowhill-nid-bill http://www.citypaper.net/blogs/nakedcity/Callowhill-NID-defeated--.html Power to the global revolution, Glenn You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named UnivCity.
