Hi Neighbors: I don't normally do this but this recommendation is worth sharing. I have a recommendation for a contractor who does excellent painting, plastering and restoration. He just finished restoring the woodwork on our 1st including the staircase to the 2nd floor. He also repaired all of the cracks in the walls and ceilings and then painted the walls and ceilings. His work is professional and he is honest, that’s a great combination. He has also done the exterior of several homes in the neighborhood. [UC] PROBLEM WITH VERIZON SERVICE
Hi Everyone: I live in the 4700 block of Warrington Ave and on Tues. June 8th we had a bad thunderstorm which put our phone line out of service until Thursday 6/11. Ever since the restoration I have had this nagging problem of intermittent problem with the dial tone. If someone calls me during one of these interruptions they get a busy message and go to my voice mail, the phone never rings. At various times I will pick up any phone in the house and it will be dead, if I click the call button the dial tone comes back. Verizon has sent a tech out 2 days last week and he rewired and replaced the phone jacks in my house, he also tested all of the equipment and said everything was fine and it was for a short time. The problem has since returned. Today while in FuWah I was talking to Dave, the owner and he said he is having the same problem and Verizon has been out for him to no avail. This morning I went to the box in the breezeway that is for homeowners to test the line and plugged in a desk phone. At first there was a dial tone but I left this phone plugged in for several hours and the problem started on this phone which tells me the problem is outside of my house. This is a follow up to a previous e-mail. I am the person who was looking for a new homeowner ins provider because my current provider recalculated the replacement cost of our home from 287,000 to 656,000. The reason for the follow up is to let you know that this translated to an annual premium increase from $1708.00 to $5,029.00. This seems pretty unfair to me but it seems they are at liberty to do this whenever. I am still looking for a new ins company, any suggestions will be appreciated.
