[UC] UCAL Samba Drumming for ages 7-12

Hi,

I'm offering an afterschool  Samba Drumming class for kids 7-12 on
Mondays starting next week at the Arts League for 10 weeks (starting one
week late). UCAL asked me to get the word out a bit.

Mondays, 4-5:30

Pricing for 11 week session
regular price   member price
per class   $130$115

(Pickup from Penn Alexander School is $20/class for the entire 11
weeks.)

Description:

In this class we'll introduce you to two popular rhythms of Brazilian
Samba percussion: Batucada and Bloco. These are high energy rhythms
played in parades, meant for dancing. We'll start the class by listening
to Samba recordings and videos, warming up with some basic Samba dance
steps, and playing rhythm games to practice listening and playing as an
ensemble. Then we'll learn and play the various rhythms and instruments
of Samba percussion to learn to play together as a Bateria! No
experience or instruments necessary.

[UC] Yard Sale and free stuff - Sat 8/7 - 319 S. 43rd St.

Between Spruce and Pine

10am - late afternoon / evening

We're moving! It's a basement and house cleanout, lots of free stuff up
for grabs. We're also having a yard sale. The free stuff will be on the
side of the house and in the basement. Come round back and if the
basement door's open, I'm down there and you can look around. Yard sale
out front.
