[UC] General Contractor Recommendations

2011-01-15 Thread Mario Giorno
Folks,

I'm in the process of getting a 203k loan to rehab my house and I need
to find a good general contractor to deal with the work that needs to be
done and find good subcontractors. If you have any contractors you'd
recommend, let me know.

Thanks to those who responded off or on list. For those interested in
another "Homeowner's Grapevine" visit Angie's List at
http://www.angieslist.com. It doesn't beat advice from neighbors but it will
do in a pinch.

2004-09-22 Thread Stephen Fisher
Frank Arnold Contracting (267/249-0489). He's very responsive,
reasonably priced, and does good work. He's currently got a number of
gigs in this area. He been redoing the store fronts at 47/Baltimore and
is working on the house on the corner of 43rd and Osage.

Good luck,
Stephen

Can anyone recommend a general contractor for small interior
renovation work (tearing down/building walls, etc.)? I searched the
archives but most of the good information must have been provided off
list. Work will be in Powelton area.

Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.

You're exactly right. Here's what I'd already sent Alex privately:

Alex's experience with the archives shows why certain cranky people have
it all backwards!

*Always* reply on the list when it is information. That is why there are
searchable archives, so the same question needn't be posted time and
