The " Monstrosity" Double Desks/Bookshelves/Sofa antique (date not known). See attached picture.
Double pull-out Desks and Double Book Shelves w/Glass Doors (not currenty attached). These two side pieces enclose a large sofa structure between them. Ornate wood carving, ionic (?) columns, carved details all over the piece. Six pieces fit together to create the "Monstrosity." Looks Like built-in when in place. Mahogany, painted white. Purchased by family at auction in late 30s in NY. No other info. Perfect for a large Queen Anne, Victorian... Fits in our row home in West Philadelphia circa 1917. Came through front door with foyer w/o problem. The "Monstrosity" needs @ 15 ft of unobstructed wall, ie. no windows where shelves are and at deepest point needs a room that can contain sofa which is at least 5 ft+ deep. High ceilings, of course.
