[UC] TRAFFIC ADVISORY - PENNSYLVANIA HALL IMPLOSION (3/4/07, 6:50AM)

Please be advised that the final demolition of the remaining sections of
Pennsylvania Hall, at 3400 Civic Center Boulevard, is scheduled to occur on
Sunday, March 4th at 6:50 a.m.

Per City of Philadelphia guidelines, Controlled Demolition, Inc. advises all
persons to avoid this area, and if possible to remain indoors during the
event. 

PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH ALL OF YOUR RESPECTIVE CONSTITUENCIES.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL:
For medical emergencies and those requiring access to HUP and CHOP,
Philadelphia Police will be on-site to direct individual personnel as
needed.

TRAFFIC PATTERNS:
Philadelphia Police will temporarily redirect local traffic before and after
this event.

The following road closures will occur at 6:30 a.m. and will be expected to
last until 7:30 a.m. (conditions permitting):

1) Spruce Street will be closed from the South Street Bridge to 38th Street;
traffic exiting from the Expressway at the South Street Bridge will be
directed eastbound toward center city.

2) Traffic exiting from the Expressway at University Avenue will be directed
toward Gray's Ferry Avenue (towards Philadelphia International Airport). 

3) 34th Street will be closed from Walnut to Spruce; Civic Center Boulevard
will be closed from Spruce Street to University Avenue.

4) University Avenue will be closed between Woodland Avenue and Grays Ferry
Avenue.

Road closure durations may vary, with Civic Center Boulevard being closed
for approximately one hour prior to the event and up to three hours after
the event. Bus and regional rail schedules may be delayed. 

University Ave is expected to remain closed up to 1 hour post implosion and
Civic Center Blvd. to remain closed up to 2 hours post implosion. If debris
is not significant, then street opening could be sooner than the above
listed times. All detours will remain in effect for these two streets until
the street areas are cleaned.

This is to inform you that on Saturday 11/20/04 and Sunday 11/21/04, 33rd
Street between Spruce Street and Walnut Street will be closed to ALL
vehicular traffic from 6am to 6pm due to the erecting of a tower crane at
the Skirkanich Bldg. construction site. Philadelphia Police, Traffic
Division will be on location for traffic direction assignments. Emergency
vehicles responding to assignments will be permitted through this street.

Also on Sunday 11/21/04, there will be intermittent closures of 34th Street
in the area of Market Street to Walnut Street due to the Philadelphia
marathon. The closures will occur approximately between 9:30am and 11:00am.
Emergency vehicles responding to assignments will be given access.
Philadelphia Police, Traffic Division will be on location for traffic
direction assignments. University of Pennsylvania Police Officers will
monitor these areas to assist motorist with special needs.
