Re: [UC] Zoning notice is up on Locust St side of former stores at 45th St SE corner
I spoke to someone who works at the Other Green Line this morning. Apparently they are going to be moving to 45th Street, opening in January. He didn't know a lot, other than the time frame, but said he also believed there was going to be an expanded menu at the new location. Considering that we had to sit outside on the damp metal seats, I'll be happy for expanded seating at the new location. Re: [UC] Zoning notice is up on Locust St side of former stores at 45th St SE corner
It's for a Daniel Thut for an eat in/take out establishment with live entertainment The second part of that phrase on the Notice references zoning code, as to what kind of live entertainment is *not* included in this zoning request... I don't recall the exact reference, however. Dan operates the other two Green Line Cafe's and I've never seen any loud bands or karaoke nights at either. Hopefully he doesn't plan to suddenly shift gears (what little I know of him, I doubt he would). The last I'd heard was the person who bought the property is keeping the house part as is - apartments and was putting a Vietnamese restaurant on the ground floor. The house part still stands as per the zoning notice. Dan W. You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named UnivCity. I was kind of hoping nobody would point that out... I work near there and patronize the 34th and Walnut Starbucks fairly regularly. I suspect I wouldn't use the 34th and Chestnut one because I am for vague, unsupportable ideological reasons opposed to the ridiculous prices at the apartment building it's in. Since it's right on the corner by us, I just went over and had a look at the zoning notice. It's for a Daniel Thut for an eat in/take out establishment with live entertainment - oh joy, just what we need on this corner to compete with the bands Upstairs at Abysinnia (sp?) and the Watusi - their karaoke nights can get really loud. Along with this - retail space for selling magazines, cards, gifts etc. The last I'd heard was the person who bought the property is keeping the house part as is - apartments and was putting a Vietnamese restaurant on the ground floor. Isabel, Because of some kind of complex contractual issues, I think it's actually operated through the company that does all of Drexel's other food/dining services.
