Fwd: [UC] another window breakin

2007-09-23 Thread pmuyehara

 Sarah,
Sorry to hear of your burglary.? I'm wondering about the location of the
window that was cut and whether anyone was home.
? Liz had posted earlier about one of her neighbors confronting burglars at
his front door in the middle of the night who had been ringing the bell first
to see if anyone was home.? (The 4600 block night patrol helped guide
responding police to apprehend one of the fleeing burglars.)
? It's a hassle, especially when its really hot, but we close all of our
first floor windows at night, as well as those above the porch roof.

Paul

hi, all,?
?

my house on the 4700 block of hazel was broken into last night, or rather
early this morning. someone cut the screen of an open window and took
electronics and items in the living room, then let him/herself out via the
front door. no one was hurt or injured, and no one saw the burglar, as far
as i know.?
?

i know this kind of crime has been happening a lot over the last few
months in UC, so just wanted to tell people.?
?

what kinds of precautions are people taking to prevent this sort of crime??
?

sarah?

If a first-floor window, have you also considered bars for your windows?
Bars + open windows is one option, no bars + closed windows is another.
