[UC] Missing grey cat?

2007-10-20 Thread Al Airone
A dark grey cat - small, perhaps a year or so old (I'm not an expert) - was
hanging around our house last night (47th just below Springfield). We fed it
some milk but it hasn't shown up again yet this morning. It looked clean and
well kept, so I think it probably is a pet, not a stray. No collar.

Two very good sites for advice on how to find lost cats:

So we're broadening the search.

Charlie is all grey, probably a Russian Blue or close cousin, short
hair, long and sturdy 4 year old boy. He is fixed, but he's a
little bit jowly and you can tell that he used to have testicles.

As many of you know, Charlie is not wearing a collar. We gave up
after the 5th lost collar and tag. A neighbor swears she saw the
cats and dogs helping the cats get them off. We also couldn't keep
him inside. He was found when he was about a year old, and whatever
happened to him before then makes him an odd mix of very
affectionate, or, quite psycho at times, reaching dangerous if he's
not let out for much of the day to run off some steam, play with
the dogs, get petted while he reigns over Regent Square or just
sleep in the shade. Because of that we've known that he was kind of
on loan to us, but it doesn't make us any less attached to him.

We'll be checking shelters tomorrow and putting signs up. If you
see him or heard about someone with a new grey cat, please feel
free to phone us at anytime, 215-222-4453. If you get the answering
machine just leave a message. FYI there is another outdoor grey cat
-- I suspect they are related, who hangs out on 42nd street between
Chester and Baltimore. That one is not affectionate, and also has a
narrow face, no jowliness. Different cat. Charlie's turf is 42nd to
Clark Park, Chester to Woodland. But because we were away maybe he
went further.

Thanks for caring.
