[Bug 731066] Re: [needs packaging] New upstream stable release available: RAR 4.20
As I just tried 12.10, it still pulls both "rar" and "unrar" if none is previously installed. And no matter whether "unrar" is installed, "rar" still garbages UTF-8 filename in File Roller. ** Attachment added: "Search Command" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rar/+bug/731066/+attachment/3428050/+files/search_command.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of MOTU, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731066 Title: [needs packaging] New upstream stable release available: RAR 4.20 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rar/+bug/731066/+subscriptions -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
[Bug 731066] Re: [needs packaging] New upstream stable release available: RAR 4.20
Please explain why it deosn't meet the requirements of an SRU. I don't think a beta version of a closed source software is worth keeping. I can make a deeper study later you are going to listen. To see how annoying things can be "rar" is installed: Try opening the file in file-roller with "rar" installed: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45139465/test.rar And observe the magic when "rar" is removed or purged. ( According to Jeremy, you probably need to make sure that "rar" and "unrar" is mutual exclusive in 12.10 to observe the magic. ) Garbage file name/path in an archive can be a form of data lose I guess. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of MOTU, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731066 Title: [needs packaging] New upstream stable release available: RAR 4.20 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rar/+bug/731066/+subscriptions -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs

Ma, I don't think this meets the requirements of an SRU: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates I uploaded your branch to raring though. [Bug 1076190] Re: Wishlist: Add submittodebian flag to allow disabling of Patch E-mail Template
Your request sounds plausible. I wouldn't want to call the parameter --expert, because "expert" doesn't tell me what I have to expect. In contrast, --no-template would be clear to me. ** Changed in: ubuntu-dev-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: ubuntu-dev-tools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Summary changed: - Wishlist: Add submittodebian flag to allow disabling of Patch E-mail Template + [submittodebian] Add flag to allow disabling of Patch E-mail Template -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of MOTU, which is subscribed to ubuntu-dev-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076190 Title: [submittodebian] Add flag to allow disabling of Patch E-mail Template To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-dev-tools/+bug/1076190/+subscriptions -- universe-bugs mailing list universe-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
