Good. With KDE 4.4 kile seems to consequently crash, so no need for you

people on Ubuntu 9.10. Try to enable apport

[Bug 500360] Re: Basket too old (still KDE 3 version)

2009-12-25 Thread Andreas Wenning
My experience is, that it is usable; but it still has some visual
problems eg. when entering text, only half of the text (cut
horizontally) is visible and other small problems. I'm following the
progress and and try to update my experimental PPA regularly with a new
version https://launchpad.net/~andreas-

wouldn't rate it as being better than using the KDE3 versino yet enough.

[Bug 485342] [NEW] Sync imapsync 1.286+dfsg-3 (universe) from Debian testing (main)

2009-11-19 Thread Andreas Wenning
Public bug reported:

Please sync imapsync 1.286+dfsg-3 (universe) from Debian testing (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
The Ubuntu change is simply updating to the new upstream release and removing
the embedded imapclient 2.2.9 in the debian dir. This has been done in Debian
as well.

Changelog entries since current lucid version 1.286-0ubuntu1:

imapsync (1.286+dfsg-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Added libdate-manip-perl, libmail-imapclient-perl to build
dependencies too beyond binary package dependencies.
(closes: #549776)

 -- RISKO Gergely ri...@debian.org  Mon, 05 Oct 2009 23:48:57 +0300

imapsync (1.286+dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Re-added libmail-imapclient-perl dependency. (closes: #547709)

 -- RISKO Gergely ri...@debian.org  Mon, 05 Oct 2009 23:48:26 +0300

imapsync (1.286+dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Removed IMAPClient sources from upstream source package, it contained
non-free RFCs. (closes: #547279)
  * Added VCS headers to debian/control.

 -- RISKO Gergely ri...@debian.org  Fri, 18 Sep 2009 21:38:53 +0300

imapsync (1.286-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New Upstream Version (closes: #532566)
- Compatible with Mail::IMAPClient 3.x, so removed the 2.2.9 from the
  package (closes: #469978)
  * Updated Standards-Version to 3.8.3
  * Updated debhelper compatibility to version 7 and added a versioned
build dependency about it

[Bug 465005] Re: octave3.2 fails to install via apt-get with libumfpack.so.3.2.0 error

2009-11-18 Thread Andreas Wenning
Their seem to be some combination of the octave packages being in
different removed/half-installed/installed states that causes the above
postinst to fail. The postinst calls the octave binary with a command
which fails in that state. If you hit it again, please post the state of
octave packages, eg. 'dpkg -l | grep octave'.

[Bug 474143] Re: Unclear question on first Kile startup after 9.04-9.10 upgrade

2009-11-05 Thread Andreas Wenning
This is the lesser of two evils. The change from KDE3 to KDE4 changes a
lot of names of external tools, eg. kpdf - okular. Re-creating the
default makes sense in that case.

This should of course have been present already at the 8.10 - 9.04
upgrade, but wasn't part of kile at that point. Keeping this question
does however still makes sense for the 8.04 - 9.10 upgrade, which is
supported. Unfortunately we are not able to disable for the 9.04 - 9.10
upgrade.

Better have this question show up unnecessarily at some users, while
actually fix kile to work for users upgrading from 8.04.

I'm not quite sure, how the wording can be improved; but in any case,
changing to the wording will not be put into karmic but only show up in
10.04; at that point 8.04 (the last KDE3 release) will be EOL and direct
upgrades not supported, so the text will be irrelevant then.

I'm marking this bug as won't fix as there is no thing which we can
really fix here. I hope the above explained the motivation for this.
Feel free to report any other bugs you find.

- to Karmic. This seems to be a well known bug in QDevelop ( see at
- http://code.google.com/p/qdevelop/issues/detail?id=374can=1q=build ).
+ --- Justification ---
+ Important function for an IDE (building from within the application) does not
work. The fix is a 3-line change taken from upstream.
+
+ --- Development release ---
+ Fixed in lucid with version 0.27.4-0ubuntu2
+
+ --- How to verify ---
+ Start qdevelop with no open project and the build-button in the build menu
is disabled. Make a project from a set of sources for a qt application, eg. the
sources for qdevelop itself, and the build-button is still disabled.
+
+ Using the proposed version the build-button is disabled when starting

[Bug 430330] [NEW] Sync octave3.2 3.2.2-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2009-09-15 Thread Andreas Wenning
Public bug reported:

Please sync octave3.2 3.2.2-2 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
Ubuntu specific change to detect GCC version. This check has now been removed
from the debian/rules file.

Changelog entries since current karmic version 3.2.0-2ubuntu1:

octave3.2 (3.2.2-2) unstable; urgency=low

octave3.2 (3.2.2-1) experimental; urgency=low

  [ Rafael Laboissiere ]
  * debian/in/control: The arm architecture has been abandoned by Debian.
Drop the arm-specific build-dependencies on gcc and g++ 4.1
(closes: #533802).

  [ Thomas Weber ]
  * New upstream release (closes: #541036)
  * New patch: dont_pass_ldflags_to_magickconfig: don't pass magickconfig's
ldflags into MAGICK_LIBS (closes: #535080)
  * Bump standards version to 3.8.2, no changes needed
  * Add ${misc:Depends} to all Depends: lines in debian/in/control, thanks
lintian.
  * Pass explicit FLIBS to ./configure, to avoid a library path with an
explicit compiler path in mkoctfile. This allows us to depend on gcc and
friends without a version (closes: #541444, #540455). Consequently, drop
the explicit dependencies from debian/in/control and debian/rules.

[Bug 412949] Re: octave3.2 depends on unreleased package, but is shown as upgradeable

2009-09-15 Thread Andreas Wenning
Hi Daniel.

As karmic is still under development, archive inconsistencies as the one
reported here, might happen. Most times they will resolve themselves
within a day or two. This particular inconsistency is not here anymore;
so I'm closing this bug report.

If you encounter other uninstallable packages in the development
version, feel free to report them! If it is possible please test that it
is still a problem the next day before reporting. Please also report any
other problems you find.

2009-05-14 Thread Andreas Wenning
Karmic should hopefully auto-sync in a matter of days, as 1.4.18-1 is
now in unstable. Here is a debdiffs for hardy through jaunty.

For dapper I'm able to fix 4 out of the 5 security-problems; the last
one is simply not possible for me to apply the idea of it to the code;
too many changes have happened.

First jaunty debdiff.

Here is the one for dapper with 4 out of the 5 advisories fixed. The one
missing is:

If anyone has the time/skills to get it applied + working then great;
but I'm simply not able to do anything about it.

[Bug 375513] Re: Multiple CVEs for Squirrelmail 1.4.17

2009-05-14 Thread Andreas Wenning
For dapper i think the best option is to do a -security backport of the package
(through proposed if necessary), if that is possible. As the squirrelmail
minor-releases is mostly-bugfix i would vote for that.
1. Wait for squirrelmail_1.4.13-2ubuntu1.3 to be in hardy
(2. Upload squirrelmail_1.4.13-2ubuntu1.3~dapper1 to dapper-proposed for
testing)?
3. If it is approved, upload to dapper-testing and dapper-updates

I've just tested backporting squirrelmail_1.4.13-2ubuntu1.3 and running
it under dapper, and it compiles and works. Tested both under php5 and
php4.
