To answer to your questions. 1) I used sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude safe-upgrade. Brasero and libbrasero were not upgraded. 2) I expected an upgrade. 3) I encountered a conflict with nautilus-cd-burner. [Bug 344416] [NEW] Cannot install version libbrasero-media0_2.26.0 because of nautilus-cd-burner already installed !
Public bug reported: Brasero wasn't installed. I downloaded both brasero_2.26.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb and libbrasero- media0_2.26.0-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb. When I tried to install it by hand, I got a conflict error message related to nautilus-cd-burner. I had to remove nautilus-cd-burner and installation works.
