  * lpapicache:
+ Make sure that login() actually logins and doesn't use cached credentials.
  * ubuntu-build:
+ Fix crash caused by a change in lpapicache that changed the default
operation mode from authenticated to anonymous. LP: #1984113

  [ Stefano Rivera ]
  * backportpackage:
+ Add support for lsb-release-minimal, which doesn't have a Python module.
Thanks to Gioele Barabucci for the patch. Closes: #1020901

Which version have you tested? backportpackge in u-d-t 0.187+ should
already be using the ~bp suffix.
Notably, note that 0.187 is available in focal-bpo.

[Bug 1959115] Re: update backportpackage and requestbackport scripts to behave according to new backport process

2022-01-26 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
** Summary changed:

- update backportpackage script to behave according to new backport process
+ update backportpackage and requestbackport scripts to behave according to new
backport process

** Description changed:

- The 'backportpackage' script needs to be updated to work according to the new
backport process:
+ The 'requestbackport' script needs to be updated to the new workflow.
+ The Backporters team doesn't take on *requests* to do backports anymore, so
most likely this script should be turned into a simpler pointer to the wiki
page, rather than actually do anything.
+
+ The 'backportpackage' script needs to be checked if the latest update
+ covered all the differences from the previous workflow.
+
+
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports

+
This bug is to track that work.

[Bug 1928946] [NEW] syncpackage: downloads .dsc when it really isn't needed

2021-05-19 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Public bug reported:

It seems that starting from a few versions, syncpackage downloads .dscs,
stores them in ~, and leaves them there.

AFAIK there is no need to download anything to sync a package, as
launchpad should be able to handle everything through its API, so I'd
say the bug is threefold:

1) shouldn't download anything if not needed (when is it needed?!)
2) shouldn't store things in ~ at all, use a tempdir in TMPDIR instead
3) shouldn't leave temporary files around

Currently running version 0.181 under Debian unstable.

[Bug 1864571] Re: SRU ubuntu-dev-tools

This is the kind of things backports should be used for.

Are there no chances for a new backports team to appear and maintain those
pockets?
Or, have the backports work like in debian when regular maintainers/developers
upload and the team just checks the versioning is correct…

[Bug 1848603] Re: Drop bzr and other python2 depends/suggests

2019-10-18 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
It only *recommends* bzr, it doesn't depend on it.

However, what if I swap the recommends from "bzr | brz" to "brz | bzr"?
That way, it will pick bzr first.

Anyway, regardless of this, the latest version of bzr in debian is a
transitional package to brz, so it shouldn't really matter much anymore.
As soon as somebody force-syncs bzr everything will just work out.

Public bug reported:

Hi

So I'm now releasing version 0.166, since there is an RC bug.

ubuntu-archive-assistant is not being installed, and after I looked at
why, I saw you:

* didn't add the required build-deps (I fixed this myself)
* didn't add the script to setup.py
* the new module is not within ubuntutools/ - this is actually a bothersome
issue, since adding a separate top-level module would require a new binary
package to comply with the debian python policy.

These are some of the issues I would have expected to catch if you had
used a MR instead of pushing straight to master.

So please now actually integrate your work within the rest of the
package, instead of just dumping it there.

In the meantime, the new script is not installed.

I recommend you look at python3-argcomplete for this :)

[Bug 1790574] Re: pull-lp-source fails due to SSL error - pull-lp-source: Error: Failed to download: [SSL] unknown error (_ssl.c:726)

2018-09-04 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
"pip install httplib2" is no workaround for a bug in a debian package
anyway.

And if you already know it's something that has to do with httplib2, why
did you assign this bug to ubuntu-dev-tools instead of python-httplib2
(which will be updated at some point, a contributor contacted me to
update the library in Debian just a few days ago :))

Any chance you could finish up that MR you did in the past, so I could
do that blind merge I was talking about?

[Bug 1453330] Re: rewrite pull-[lp|debian|uca]-source

2018-05-15 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
I am serious: you are right on being tired of waiting, so I'm asking you
to give me something I can straight merge and upload as-is to unstable.

It's clear I'm not going to review it as I hoped I would, so there is
little point in trying to defer it any more (and I kind of doubt you'll
find many other people willing to seriously review that).

Well, now that bionic is done, and buster has still about an year to
come, let me just merge it and have you deal with whatever happens.. :)

[Bug 1453330] Re: pull-{lp, debian}-source not getting source for binary because DDE is dead

2017-10-28 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Most probably I can, yes. But it's not a quick thing, I need to find
some appropriate time to review.

BTW, even after merging some thing I'd prefer if you could stick around
and deal with upcoming bugs in pull-pkg in the next months.

[Bug 1661324] Re: add pull-ca-source to ubuntu-dev-tools

2017-03-29 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
ah, so this bug wasn't added to the changelog, and I noticed only now.
Pity, so I'm marking as released now already, I just synced it, so it's now
sitting in proposed, package version 0.158.

Thanks everybody who contributed!

[Bug 1661324] Re: add pull-ca-source to ubuntu-dev-tools

2017-03-29 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
So let's do this, then. I'm going to upload to experimental, then sync
it

Although I have a question: I am totally unable to work with bzr behind
very basic stuff. Would anyone feel particularly sorry if I/we were to
move it to git? Now that launchpad supports it and so we could keep the
same ACL it currently has (where all of ~ubuntu-dev can push)

[Bug 915876] Re: pbuilder-dist does not build foreign architecture

2016-01-05 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
this is not a pbuilder bug:
pbuilder does not check if he should build the package or not at all, it just
hands the .dsc to dpkg-buildpackage after satisfying build-deps.

Interestingly enough, I trying to look up "in arch list or does not
match any arch wildcards" in codesearch.d.n, and the only results have
been from sbuild and xbuilder.

Since I'm confused, I'm reassigning this back to ubuntu-dev-tools.
