I built the Jaunty package on my system with the debdiff but I still get the synfig crash... I deleted ~/.synfig and still the same issue. Is there something else thats needs to be updated? Hey Stani. Can you check a few things. 1. The debdiff for karmic (possibly the other also) has ctrl-m characters (^M). Removing them causes the patch to fail. Could you have a look at that and re-upload the diff. 2. (Closes LP: #370839) is a mix of Debian and Ubuntu. Just use (LP: #) 3. The SRU debdiff should be for jaunty-proposed and not just Jaunty. I'll upload the Karmic fix as soon as these got sorted. I have tested as much as I am able too. mpg123 -v --rva-album file.mp3 mpg123 -v --long-tag file.mp3 Functions as expected. (These are all the related id3 tag functions from the manpage that could possibly trigger the function). Dapper code seems to not be affected. There is no id3.c and grepping for the strings also return no results. There is no released POC for this exploit and no inbuilt tests. The resulting .dsc was built on all releases and builds ok. Testing was done to ensure that mpg123 still works as expected by playing random mp3 files and checking the id3 tag information was displayed.
