Note that if you want to use a password and have an SBC in your setup you should be running the latest build of 7.0.1: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5887 was only just fixed. -- radish radish's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=77 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46668 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix

Thanks all. I've just added my first section (Ubuntu (Gutsy)) to the DebianPackage wiki. I second the request. Just upgraded to Mandriva 2008.1 and I'm now running Perl 5.10.0. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Perl 5.10 and Squeezecenter
There's some discussion in bug 6987. I haven't spent much time looking at it, but I haven't gotten it to work yet on F9. At least one person claims to have it working but couldn't provide details on how. Regarding Mandriva, since they use non-threaded perl, you have to build the perl modules yourself anyway. Have you tried using build-perl-modules.pl and then adjusting the perl version string as discussed in that bug? -- Fletch Fletch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=529 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46491 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Perl 5.10 and Squeezecenter
I just tried using the patch from bug report 6987, but it didn't work. I also manually installed all the modules listed in the build-perl-modules.pl script, but now all I see is: Starting SqueezeCenter: Log4perl: Seems like no initialization happened. Forgot to call init()? Use of uninitialized value $_[0] in join or string at /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/File/Spec/Unix.pm line 81. Useless use of a constant in void context at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim/Networking/Slimproto.pm line 104. Use of uninitialized value $old in pattern match (m//) at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim/Utils/Prefs.pm line 269. I don't know perl so I have no clue how to fix this. -- awshirley awshirley's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=714 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46491 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Perl 5.10 and Squeezecenter
I have it working under FC9, though I haven't tested everything. SC 7.1 installs easier but its still a mess getting it to use the right CPAN modules. If anyone wants to download a 33 MB tar and you can point me to a public repository I could upload my perl and squeezecenter directories :).
