Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] problem with ALAC or 64-bit installation
Have you installed the ia32-libs package? Typically 32-bit compiled apps won't run on x64 Linux unless you have ia32-libs installed. I don't use alac, but the copy I got from SVN is 32-bit: Code: $ file alac alac: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.0, statically linked, stripped To install ia32-libs, try Code: sudo yum install ia32-libs at a shell prompt. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver ContextMenu FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64730 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] problem with ALAC or 64-bit installation
I've had my SB for a month or two, and it's been great for mp3s. I'm running SqueezeCenter on my housemate's 64-bit Fedora Core 10 machine. When I try to play an Apple Lossless file, I get sh: /usr/share/squeezecenter/Bin/i386-linux/flac: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory I am sort of messing around at the edge of my comprehension here, but that sounds like it has something to do with the 64-bit setup... maybe? I'm not sure what to do next (nor whether it's an SC problem, or the machine itself). Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] squeezecenter 7.3.3 gentoo
I've also submitted 7.3.3 to Joe (who has commit rights to get it into Portage), so it should show up in the official Portage tree soon. That's the same version that Ralphy has pointed to below (the contents of the "stage" directory can be used for a locally installed ebuild if you know how to do that). Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 7.3.3 not playing AAC on Solaris
If you get "faad" for Solaris then 7.3.3 will work "out of the box" as SC 7.3.3 is setup to use "faad" to handle AAC files. The Squeezebox faad (bundled in for Linux x86, Windows and OSX) has a few patches (e.g. to handle aacplus streams) - so if you can build your own faad with the Squeezebox patches - it will be a better solution than mplayer. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64711 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Thanks, bpa. I won't have a chance to look at this again until friday, but at least I know what to do. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 7.3.3 not playing AAC on Solaris
"AAC" files have now 2 types in the convert.conf file: MP4 and AAC depending on whether the content is AAC or MPEG4 as the file extension is not always correct. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64711 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] 7.3.3 not playing AAC on Solaris
I have a few AAC tracks in my collection and with the upgrade to 7.3.3 they don't play. I've been using mplayer and flac to do the decoding and it's worked fine until I upgraded. In file types in SC everything for AAC is disabled and cannot be changed. Here's my custom-convert.conf: Code: mov mp3 * * # FRB:{BITRATE=-B %B} [mplayer] -novideo -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1 1>/dev/null | [lame] --resample 44100 --silent -q $QUALITY$ $RESAMPLE$-v $BITRATE$ -x -r --big-endian - - alc mp3 * * # FB:{BITRATE=-B %B}D:{RESAMPLE=--resample %D} [mplayer] -novideo -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1 1>/dev/null | [lame] --silent -q $QUALITY$ $RESAMPLE$ -v $BITRATE$ - - mov flc * * # FR [mplayer] -novideo -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1 1>/dev/null | [flac] -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 --endian big --sign signed --channels 2 --bps 16 --sample-rate 44100 - alc flc * * # F [mplayer] -novideo -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1 1>/dev/null | [flac] -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 --endian big --sign signed --channels 2 --bps 16 --sample-rate 44100 - This all worked in 7.3.2, so I suspect something in the new AAC support in 7.3.3 has broken this for me. All of the settings for Apple Lossless have been unaffected. Any ideas? -- 4mula1 SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 + Solaris 10 x86: Because everything else would've been easy!
