Be careful if you are using the 7.4 version. They are changing the name,
and its a bit up in the air right now. Some things were broken this past
weekend, such as the username that the server runs under. This can cause
problems with permissions.

I'm sure it will settle down in the next weeks

Yeah, well a week ago, it WAS 'squeezebox'.

Thank you very much gharris. I was a bit confused by the recent name
changing and had squeezecenter replaced by squeezebox instead of
squeezeboxserver. All seems well now.

Last time I check (a couple of days ago) SrvrPowerCtrl installed and
worked OK with 7.4. It is causing some warning messages to show up in
the server log due to its using some deprecated functions. I'll check
again to make sure that everything at least functions. I do have some
work to do before SrvrPowerCtrl works cleanly with 7.4.

In the mean time, if you followed the SrvrPowerCtrl post-install setup
instructions, you should know that the changes made to /etc/sudoers have
to be modified in order for SrvrPowerCtrl to work with 7.4.

>From a terminal prompt, run:

# export VISUAL=nano
# sudo visudo

Once in the nano editor, navigate to the bottom of the file and change
all the occurrences of 'squeezecenter' to 'squeezeboxserver'. Save the
file by hitting ctrl+o and exit nano by hitting ctrl+x. visudo should
output a message to the terminal window if anything got screwed up in
the /etc/sudoers file. You can ignore any warnings about 'aliases'.

But with the above changes to /etc/sudoers, SrvrPowerCtrl ought to work
with 7.4.

I'm a Linux noob. Installed vortexbox. Looked around on the net for the
right info. Added an eSATA drive formatted NTFS. Made a directory
/storage/satadrive and mounted the external drive with the -t NTFS
switch. Next copied all music from the satadrive with 'cp -a orig dest'.
Didn't encounter any problems.

After that, I attached the drive back to my Windows machine and did a
sync with DeltaCopy/rsync (per Moonbase instructions): all was well.

The only problem I have at the moment is that I can't get
SrvrPowerControl working with the 7.4 test version of SC.
