What you wrote is no different than me saying "logitech should have had
it ready". It was plan as day that Ubuntu 9.10 was being upgraded to
MySQL 5.1. And what's minor about slimserver, no wait, squeezecenter, no
wait again, squeezeboxserver not installing? Hardly minor...

Looks like you are running the AMD64 build. So switch over to x86
FreeNAS and it should work. Or consider installing a full blown OS like
Ubuntu.

for goodness sake can you not read? The stable package doesn't get
changed, because changes might break other parts of the programme. What
gets changed is the proposed next version which is called testing and
the number is 7.4.2. I repeat 7.4.2 testing. If you want to fix this
problem you should use testing, did I say testingAfter installing
testing then change your repository list back to stableYou should
have waited for things to settledown before going for 9.10. Do not blame
logitech it is not their fault. There is more than enough information
for anyone to sort this minor issue out.

If you can't work out what to do reinstall 9.04 and the stable .deb.

I have the following repo:

http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main

When I run sudo apt-get install squeezeboxserver, I get:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
squeezeboxserver: Depends: mysql-server-4.1 but it is not installable
or
mysql-server-5.0 but it is not going to be
installed
E: Broken packages

When I go to mysqueezebox.com/download, it offers:

Squeezebox Server v7.4.1

I'm going to venture that it isn't fixed. Too bad Logitech lets things
like this happen.

2009-10-31 Thread Ramage

Just for info:

I have upgraded ubuntu server, and desktop versions to karmic without
any SBS issues. Prior conditions were that all updates were installed
and running SBS 7.4.2 r29082.

Latest SBS nightly r29092 upgraded also with no issues.
