To play MMS you need server side WMA decoding when you disable native
Windows Media.  On Windows this support is included.  For Linux you
need to add a 3rd party WMA decoder.  You can do this with the PlayWMA
plugin and install the nogui version of mplayer.  

Due to mplayer buffering there is usually a 5-15 delay in starting to
play streams compared to native SB player.

MMS is a deprecated protocol and often stations have streams in other
formats such as AAC which may be a better option.

I cheat I am afraid. I use webmin to make sure the folders get shared.
My data drive is in ntfs so that any windows machines can see the
folders, alter files etc. I have to install samba and ntfs-3g
(depending on distro)
