You need support in uboot and kernel.

Boot your dual lite with the sdcard that you have updated to latest test
kernel.

Code:

  sudo csos-cleanInstall-testing uboot-wandboard-quad
  sync
  sudo dd if=/usr/share/uboot-wandboard-quad/u-boot.imx of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1k
seek=1
  sync
  sudo poweroff -f

Now pull the power from the dual lite, move the sdcard to your quad
board and it should boot.

(NB. It should boot! ;) I won't actually be able to test myself until I
have a quad board.)

Artwork seems more reliable after a few days of playing (although no
exhaustive testing). Thanks, gregb

LMS 7.8 on VortexBox Midi, FLACs 16 or 24 bit. Touch on Ethernet (in
another room), digital out to a Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC. Old wireless
laptop running Linux Mint Debian controls server using Chromium.
Squeezelite on Ubuntu & Windows desktops plus the laptop. Meridian
Explorer USB DAC to listen directly to Vortexbox & other PCs as
required. Spare Touch in loft!

Hi Bernd,
I don't think 24 is a legal option, I think it's either 20 or 28 if I
remember correctly. This is not the output bit depth, but the number of
bits used in som internal calculations. You might as well use 28.

I found that for my system -u mI:::28 made a significant improvement.
With a -r of 9600 it's only going to be upsampling 44.1 and 48 files of
course.

The "-a 40:16" did it, I'm now more than fine up to 24/192 with

-o iec958:CARD=U7,DEV=0 -a 40::16 -n Pi -m ab:cd:ef:gh. :-)

Thank you a lot

I'm trying to get the U7 to output the sound to digital output, only
headphone and speaker output are working so far. But this seems to be a
driver issue, I only could get that to works under Windows 7 with asus
drivers installed... Any ideas?

Hallo Adrian!

Found now time to test resampling in windows and it works without
problems. I have a older Core2Duo processor E8600 and a M-Audio Delta
2496
Soundcard. Using Microsoft Soundmapper the CPU consumption of
squeezelite goes from 0.3 % up to 1.4 % by upsampling to 24 Bits and
96000 kHz.
Using the ASIO-Interface the rise of the CPU-use is very small and
cannot be measured. I also cannot hear any differences in the sound
quality.
I tested with following command:
squeezelite-win.exe -r 96000 -u v:::24::: 127.0.0.1
hope its ok, the explanation of -u was a little bit cryptic.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: Squeezelite - a small headless squeezeplay emulator for linux (alsa only)

2013-06-21 Thread bigbill

Hi Triode,

A superb piece of software development; just re-purposed a RPi and an
old USB soundcard as an alternative Squeezebox Receiver and it works
perfectly on mp3, flac, Spotify, iPlayer, sync with other players etc.
Well done and major thanks for giving us all another option for when we
want to expand our Squeezebox systems without having to scrabble around
on Ebay.

Even managed to get my 11 year old daughter interested in making a
battery powered 'Boom' out of an RPi, a T-amp and some speakers removed
from an old 'ghetto blaster'.

Cheers!
