Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCoPlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelite
Hi Steen, Thanks for the great work! The latest version now works perfectly with my aureon usb dac. No longer any need to lower usb speed to usb 1. Flacs play without clicks. As a unix user I ran fdisk on the card after copying the image to the sd-card to remove the dirty bit on the first partition. There where no other errors on the partition, so I don't think there is any reason to worry about the warning at boot ( the one about unclean file system) /NS bitwit's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62670 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Help Setting Up Cubietruck as Squeezebox Replacement
The image you have installed is rather old. Get the latest Lubuntu nand image from here: http://dl.cubieboard.org/software/a20-cubietruck/lubuntu/ct-lubuntu-nand-v1.03/EN/ I believe your WIFI hardware should then be detected and you can proceed to getting your audio working. Hopefully I can get it up and running quickly and not take too much of your time. I downloaded Lubuntu from a link in the Cubieboard.org site : http://docs.cubieboard.org/tutorials/a20-cubietruck_lubuntu_desktop_releases I downloaded the nand.img.gz file at the bottom of the page under "ct_lubuntu_desktop_v1.00" I'm using the keyboard & mouse connections and a secondary monitor. The Cubietruck boots fine and I have logged in to "linaro" using the default password. When I run the "sudo ifconfig wlan0" I unfortunately get the error you describe. What needs to be done at this point? rulof72's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4272 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101543 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Can someone give me a pointer as to how I add Python and the GPIO libraries to picoreplayer? May be worth checking with the picoplayer player thread to - would be great if this could do squeezelite as well as jivelite, so be a player and a controller. You can possibly edit the luafile HD applet to define a slightly smaller screen and then use the pi configuration to make it fit - afraid I can't really comment as I think this is pi specific. What's the exact name of the Lubuntu image you have installed? Have you connected a monitor and keyboard to your Cubietruck, or have you logged in remotely via ssh? (Use Putty in Windows for remote login) Has the Cubietruck booted OK, and have you logged in OK to the Lubuntu desktop? If you've got that far, open the LXTerminal with a double left mouse click. A quick check to see if your WIFI hardware is recognised is to use this command: Code: sudo ifconfig wlan0 If the output is "wlan0: error fetching interface information: Device not found" then there's work to do. Otherwise you should be able to proceed to configure your WIFI. Navigate to Menu option perferences, and then Network Connections. Clcik on the "Wireless Tab" and then on "Add". You will need to go through the Wireless, Wireless Security and Ipv4 Settings tabs to enter you SSID, security & password, and finally your IP settings (DHCP or static). Once done you should have a working WIFI connection. Back to the LXTerminal and type "aplay -L" at the prompt to see if your in-built audio is recognized. Post command output here. I would expect to see an entry that starts with iec958 in the command output. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: JiveLite - cut down squeezebox control application
I've just got Squeezelite and Jivelite working on a Raspberry Pi with WiPi and bolted it to the back of the kitchen TV, which seems to be working quite nicely. It seems far more responsive than my previous experience with SqueezeSlave (but does show up the low resolution of my cover art!) It's currently based on Raspbian but I've seen some suggestions that ArchLinux would boot faster, so I was going to try that next. I was surprised not to be able to find a Pi image with this setup and ready to go. Is there any reason this hasn't been done, or is it worth me trying to get an image into a state where it could be shared? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCoPlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelite
Hi Steen It's some time ago that I used a new version of your picoplayer. For the first time in months I've tested the latest version (1.15e). And wow this is awesome, all flac files are playing fine now. No hick ups or digital noise anymore in 44k files. I'm very happy with this new version. I still use the Hifymediy Sabre Usb Dac. Settings: USB audio Output settings: default 16b44K, 24b44K, 24b48K, 24b88K & 24b96K are all playing like a charme without any distortion. I am very glad now. Thank you very much. The Raspberry Pi is now an excellent replacement for the Squeezebox Touch. I also like the the web page to configure piCorePlayer. Great job. Thanks again Best greetings Willem Nerdwebber's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55759 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
