hi ThaYapeMan,

If you set piCorePlayer to [Beta] mode (tabs at the bottom of the main
page) then the [Advanced Overclocking] button should appear on the
Tweaks page.

Note:
- Most settings need a reboot, except for the Governor which is
dynamic.
- You might set your warranty bit if you play with Force Turbo.

BTW: I have no experience with ALAC

Greg

Greg: you are the doctor of displays. You diagnosed the problem from
across the internet.

I took it off a USB charger and put it on its own dedicated power
supply.

No more glitches. It's very responsive and smooth.

The little rainbow square is gone

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer = Squeezelite on Microcore linux. .An embedded OS in RAM with Squeezelit

2015-11-26 Thread jimzak

One thing I really like about the touchscreen player is that you can put
a touchscreen by your favorite seat in the house and control all of your
other Squeezebox players from that seat. You don't even have to utilize
the touchscreen as a player at all.

BTW I had been testing and building the touchscreen on my bed so I
didn't scratch the screen. However, I noticed that the touchscreen
seemed to have a life of it's own as long as it was on the bed, even
without anything touching the screen. As soon as I moved it to a hard
surface (it's in the Pimoroni frame), the "auto selection" properties of
the touchscreen went away. There must be something in my bed that has
different musical tastes from me. LOL.

I typically see ~8% CPU usage on Pi2B @ 600MHz core speed, decoding
1000kbps ALAC via squeezelite. (That's just a bit of useless data for
you. I'm not running picore, but it gives you an idea of what you should
see.)

Ok, I'm experiencing a lot of trouble playing back ALAC coded files in
combination with Hifiberry Digi+

With my Raspberry Pi Model B with Hifiberry Digi+ I finally resolved the
problems playing high-resolution audio 24bit >96Khz by overclocking the
Raspberry to moderate (it doesn't matter with version of piCorePlayer
I'm using. I've tried to install Ralphys to solve this. Only the Ralphys
version won't work at all!

With my new Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Hifiberry Digi+ 7" touchscreen and
1.21g I'm only able to play radiostreams and ALAC files with a low
variable bitrate.. In the interface of piCorePlayer I'm not able to
overclock the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B (yet). Only this new Raspberry
should have plenty of processor power What is going wrong here?

Max2Play has a multiband EQ that works with Squeezelite through sox.
Might be worth a look at the implementation there.

Most of better amps/preamps do not have any tone control.

Maybe it will be possible to add some tone control to
picoreplayer/squeezelite settings ?
At the beginning jut some buttons with +- 3/6dB at 50Hz and +- 3/6dB at
10KHz, later some "loudness control" and maybe even more sophisticated
dsp room correction etc. It is all possible with sox, one has to restart
squeezelite after each change, but IMHO it will be a very good feature.

Why not ? ;)

Erm, if you are using a "nightly", you have installed the "upstream" LMS
