With a little programming, yes. You need a program that can monitor
gpio, and then send commands via the LMScli interface. I use Python,
and a little perl program called squeezy.

This is not prebuilt into PCP.

Rasplex on the Pi will send 7.1 channels of Audio over HDMI, either
passed through natively or as LPCM. More information here:

https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/181255/rasplex-guide-to-audio-settings-updated

This is basic required functionality for any media player and it does
work well.

I don't use Kodi but this is from the Kodi Wiki:

http://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ#Video_and_audio_formats_the_Raspberry_Pi_can_playback

1.8 How about multichannel audio support?

By default audio is downmixed to stereo.
If your receiver/TV supports DTS or AC3 passthrough then enable
these in audio settings and you will get 6 channel audio.
Multichannel PCM audio is supported over HDMI. Note: not all
receivers support this and toslink/optical will not.
Enable by setting the speaker configuration to suitable value
(e.g. 5.1 or 7.1).
If your recevier does not support multichannel PCM, then leave
this at 2.0. You can still get multichannel audio through passthrough.

So for sure it can be done.

Regards, Steve.

I do have some problems when Syncing with my other SBTs. Some Dropouts,
etc. -- Also, I have on order a Pi3 model B and HifiBerry Digi+..
The one I am currently fiddling with is an Old Pi, I bought 5 years ago.
Model B I am just trying to use what I've got also...

I have an external DAC that I prefer to use.

yes, that's normal behaviour. programs identifiy the flac-file as 2ch,
but they are indeed multi-channel. play it in picoreplayer and you
should hear the file in full surround

under compression you have to choose DCA as encoder, this is the dts
encoder. and under bitrate choose 1536kbps.

Hi ManfredK2,

The pCP WOL implementation was inspired from WOL on jivelite, so it must
be there somewhere on the latest jivelite. I think it was Kolossoss who
added it to jivelite. :D

I don't have any sacd-iso but that way should work (I tested it
successfully with a demo dsf-file):

1) sacd to flac/wav: foobar2000 with the super audio cd decoder plugin

2) flac to dts: for example LameXP, which includes the free dts encoder
ffdcaenc. unfortunately, the encoder is limited to 48khz and 16bit. if
you want 96/24 you have to use a commercial dts encoder like the dts-hd
master audio suite.

3) encapsulate the dts stream into the flac container: AudioMuxer, under
Tools -> Convert AC3/DTS to SPDIF Wav/Flac
