Hi folks.

What do you think about introducing additional "float" output over pipe
? -a 32:f or -a 32:i

Thanks Greg, can't wait as it's really the only gripe at the moment.

I've converted VFAT to NTFS on windows with command "CONVERT" without
losing my data
It's working perfectly now

thank you

Ext4 works great, pCP is linux after all. But not everyone has the
tools to do a ext4 partition on a windows machine. We currently only
have automatic mounting on 1 USB device. You can use 2, but then you
need to manually set it up.

Why not format a USB stick to NTFS and stick that in the pi and write
the LMS cache to that.

That would work?

NTFS is the only type fully compatible with music & cache ? that's pitty
VFAT does not work.

I'll try to change type to NTFS with a window tool

I'm worrying that yusing SDCARD for cache will burn rapidely the SDCard

It is fine for music, it is the cache and database that cannot go on a
vfat partition. You can leave the cache on the sdcard, but I would
recommend reformatting your hard disk and putting the music and cache on
it.

If you are formatting on a windows machine. Ntfs format will work too.

Hello Paul,
This disk has just been reformated before I copy my music on it from my
PC. why should I reformat again ? which type of format ?

You need to reformat your hard disk if you want to move the LMS cache
and database on it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.00

2016-12-20 Thread tparvais

Hello

I connected external USB HDD containing all my music. I installed LMS on
picoreplayer (Pi 2)
I mount this HDD : /dev/sda1 vfat 5855-1C4F 465 GB

In LMS config, I can delcare this hdd for the music, it works fine. On
SSH, everything is OK

but when I click to move the LMS data cache to USB-HDD
(/mnt/hdd/slimserver), I got the following error message:
> [ERROR] Unsupported partition type detected (vfat), please use a ntfs or
> linux partition type for Cache storate. (i.e. ext4)

I don't understand why I cannot do that...

thank you
