Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.10

2017-02-24 Thread huxmut

For me, on WiFi, 3.10 is taking right on 20 seconds to start playing
music, a little longer to see JiveLite start-up
without wifi is quicker, but I've never timed it

2017-02-24 Thread Greg Erskine

hi Benicz

How long is it taking to boot now?

What Raspberry Pi? Overclocking?

I think most "normal" SD cards have similar read times, it's the write
time that varies the most.

regards
Greg

Thanks very much Michael and Ralphy.

It works fine at 1920x1080 although not as pretty as on the touchscreen
its not too bad and way better than a blank screen.

Thanks again,
Jeff

not think I know how to do it from github

I only use the "Digital Clock (Black)" so that would be my preferred :)

I committed a bunch of changes to improve the clock scaling on HD and
new Touch and Grid skins. Digital and Analog Clock should work (though
the AM/PM is a bit out of place for some resolutions...).

The Word Clock should work in the Touch and Grid based skins (not the HD
ones). Pull from github or wait for the next update (thanks ralphy!)

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 3.10

2017-02-24 Thread Benicz

Yes I know - it's sad... But I have hope it'll work together some time.
:-)

I'm on 3.11 vanilla now, analog out wich does very well for my
purposes.
Tried the audio version, but there were lots of hicks and artifacts.

My next issue is boot time - are there ways to get it up faster?
Fast SD for starters, I guess... :-P
But there may be other things?
