Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2017-10-12 Thread psketch

Hi

I've been a long time pcp user with several pi in regular use, but I
thought I'd add Jivelite to one of my pi's really just to display "now
playing" content on the screen via HDMI. Installation is, of course, a
breeze, Jivelite boots nicely, select a skin (HD ones didn't work, chose
an SD one - fine) then get to the choose a player - and nothing It
can't find any players. I assume this is because it's trying to find a
server to list the players (even though of course i's running on the
same Pi as squeezelite). The reason is no doubt that my LMS is on a
different subnet, so I have to enter the LMS info manually as
Auto-discover won't work. So, how can I enter the LMS IP so that
Jivelite can find the server? Is there a config file somewhere I can
edit? I may go with flirc later, but for now I'll just use an old Duet
controller or an app on smartphone to control it.

Thanks

Peter

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] picoreplayer without network

2017-10-12 Thread paul-

I only tested the ZeroW and rpi3 wifi devices. I'm sure this is going
to be very driver/device dependent.

Hi paul,

I tried this code and got a wifi which can be found with my notebook,
but i am not able to connect. Wit an old ipod touch i can connect, but
cannot open the picore webpage (http:\\10.10.10.1) in your example.
My moto x play cannot find the network at all

Are these problems driver/wifistick hardware related or can i try some
other settings to get this running?

Using a pi zero with picore 3.22 and a cheap 1 euro wifi stick.

But will try it also with a pi 3 and a pizero w, but tomorrow or so...

What they do? Nothing for sound quality. They might make your system
less stable. The only way to get improvements in sound quality is to
test, measure and verify after each tweak, but none of these will do
anything in that regard.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20

2017-10-12 Thread mcduman

i have seen that the following settings are very popular in some
configurations based on the argument that:

1. arm_freq, gpu_freq and sdram_freq should be multiples of each other
2. the lower the voltage, the better things are
3. sdram latency can be tweaked for better sound

arm_freq=666
over_voltage=-10
gpu_freq=333
sdram_freq=333
sdram_schmoo=0x0220
over_voltage_sdram_p=-5
over_voltage_sdram_i=-14
over_voltage_sdram_c=-6.

i applied theses settings and pCP 3.22 boots successfully but did not
notice any improvement in sound. any opinions on re. these settings,
what they do etc?
