[SlimDevices: Unix] Debian package fails to run
I upgraded today from a debian build that was 6 months old to the most recent build (Oct 25th) LMS fail to start. The debian package no longer installs on a upto date version of Ubuntu? It this expected? There appear to be an expectation that I have to compile perl/CPAN from source again? Surely were are not back to those bad old days? bullgod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9916 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108192 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] BitPerfect
Having played with Rpi3 for month with pure MPD, now I am using pCP. I would like to know what kind of setting I need to set in order to achieve BitPerfect playback. Let me say, avoid resampling, avoid software volume control, etc. In particular, my external USB DAC is capable of hardware volume control, but I am not sure how to use DAC volume control and not something "software" (decimation by Rpi3, etc.) Thanks a lot. steff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108191 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Cirrus Logic Audio Card and Wolfson support in PCP 3.20
I found a part of the problem. As my sound card driver does not load properly at boot time, I have to use modprobe to unload and reload the driver. Unfortunately , By then the regular startup must have configured /etc/asound.conf So without disabling the on-board RPI audio card 0 is the only one, and configured properly with alsa When disabled there is even no soundcard /proc/asound/cards and it shows as a quirk in /etc/asound.conf Editing the file and restarting squeezelight does what is expected and even allows me to use alsaequal. SO WHAT PROCES OR SCRIPT DOES INITIALISE THE ALSA PARTS? AND CAN I MAKE CHANGES THAT ARE RETAINED OVER REBOOTS ? I rather not just rewrite /etc/asound.conf but delay parts till my driver is installed with a manual tweak. The real solution would be to get the driver started correctly. Till then I have to work on the workarounds. It would be a great addition to be able to play an occasional tune from my phone over the PCP managed amp and speakers . Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Building LMS for 64-bit Debian running on ARM Single Board Computers
. . Sure looks like a bunch of trouble to do something that can just be done using a quick Vortexbox Image. The reason I say that is if one doesn't want to run a big server but one also feels that a Raspberry Pi is not powerful enough or doesn't have enough storage, why not run a NUC or a Micro Server? Is 5 watts really going to make that much difference especially if one can just install a Vortexbox Image from a USB Thumb Drive and be done with it? Almost any 64 bit Micro Server, NUC, or Atom is a good candidate for a very energy efficient LMS/PLEX media server. If efficient but still need a bunch of storage, go for the 4 bay Micro Server with Optical Drive and rip CDs and Movies automatically. Just need a music server with 2TB or less, then a 4 by 4 by 2 inch NUC is perfect. Want small but still want auto ripping with 4 to 8TB of storage, then build a Vortexbox using an Atom. Burn the Vortexbox Image to USB Thumb Drive and be done in 10 minutes. *iPhone* Media Room: ModWright Platinum Signature Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Wood Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1, Vandersteen V2W Subwoofer Living Room: Transporter, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Office: Touch with Vandersteen VSM-1s Kitchen: Touch in-wall mount w/ Thiel Powerpoint 1.2s Bedroom: Squeezebox BOOM Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Around the House: SliMP3, SB1, SB2, SB3 Ford Thunderbird: SB Touch, USB drive Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108166 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer with touchscreen and jivelite
Startup in the "now playing" screen. Is this possible?. Instead of the menu, i have a player with just a screen and no touch or keyboard. Best of aal would be, now playing when somthing is playing, or screensaver (clock) ? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer with touchscreen and jivelite
Hello, i've got exactly the same problem. When i run ts_test it's ok but in jivelite up is left and left is down. my "do_rebootstuff.sh" is Code: if [ "$JIVELITE" = "yes" ]; then echo -n "${BLUE}Starting Jivelite... ${NORMAL}" eventno=$( cat /proc/bus/input/devices | awk '/Intelligent Agent CDC and Digitizer/{for(a=0;a>=0;a++){getline;{if(/mouse/==1){ print $NF;exit 0;') if [ x"" != x"$eventno" ];then export JIVE_NOCURSOR=1 export TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/$eventno export SDL_MOUSEDRV=TSLIB export SDL_MOUSEDEV=$TSLIB_TSDEVICE export SDL_VIDEO_FBCON_ROTATION=UD i've tried every ROTATION (UD, CW, CCW) but nothing change. swapxy in config.txt is also nothing change i've read about a config_xy command but i don't know where to use it. I've got XPT2046 4inch Waveshare. Does anybody can help? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce piCorePlayer 3.20
Sorry for the late replies, been working away. sbp wrote: > What is the directory structure on the HD? > Is it possible that LMS is not scanning the new directories? Nothing crazy, just LMS\Music Store\folder per artist\folder per album It does scan them because I can see the new folders when I browse music and as a test i copied a track from a working folder into one of the new ones and it could play that track, it just won't play any new tracks. I'll check permissions on the tracks against stuff that was already on the HD. Wasn't aware of the SMB share, the thing is I bring the HD back to my house to transfer music but I guess I could take it there. hankmarvin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64136 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107352 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
