Ah, OK I understand! Thank you for clarification!

Great! Many thanks for your work! I will try to look at it at the
weekend as I am very busy now.

For the raw music data for LMS write support is not necessary I think.
Write support is only needed for the configuration data and the LMS
database. Maybe I will also attach a USB stick with ext-filesystem for
this. Hopefully the 5V will be enough for this.

I don't know how many folks use an SBS in their car, but I do and I
appreciate everything you guys do. Beats the heck out of any car
manufacturer software or UI out there.

Hi everybody,
I do not know why, but since this afternoon, everything is working
well.:)
I was able to put back my USB hard drive locally and in a network.
I have access to my files again from my PCs and with Audirvana.
Awesome.
I do not understand, I did exactly the same editing as the other times,
but I have no more errors, now.
3 days that I try to do this.

Thanks again to Paul and Greg.
Good job.

See you later.

hfsprogs provides hfs+ filesystem checking and creation, however, I'll
upload the extension to our repository shortly.

pcp-hfsprogs is not needed to mount an hfsplus filesystem on pcp 5.0.

For testing, I partitioned a USB stick GPT and formatted as hfsplus on a
mac.

>From the LMS webgui tab.

Install and Enable additional FileSystems.

GPT Partitioned disks require the additional util-linux.tcz extension.
(A message to install will be displayed, if needed)

27542

The hfsplus filesystem kernel module mounts the filesystem read only.

Code:

[ 32.467898] hfsplus: write access to a journaled filesystem is not
supported, use the force option at your own risk, mounting read-only.
  [ 32.631782] Finished piCorePlayer v5.0.1 startup.

To enable write support execute this command from an ssh/putty session.
Make sure you match the /dev/ and /mnt/ entries from the webgui.

sudo mount -o rw,force,remount /dev/sda2 /mnt/hfs

Write support is still experimental so enable it at your own risk!

pcp 5.0 will always mount an hfs filesystem read only at boot. AFAIK
there's no way to enable hfs write support at boot.

I'll investigate adding hfsprogs for pCP 5.0.

In the meantime I searched for hfs in tinycore, but I only find hfsprogs
for 9.x and x86. For ARM they doesn't seem to be available. But I don't
know what is necessary to mount hfs partitions for r/w.

2019-06-18 Thread Greg Erskine

hi chill,

Unfortunately its not as simple as adding another option. The extension
load scripts automatically work out the right version of piCore to use
ie. 10.

IMHO mixing repositories is a nightmare. In Tiny Core, there is no
mechanism to record where each extension comes from. Tiny Core assumes
different repositories are really mirror repositories.

Greg

Just a thought - given that some of the old extensions seem to work with
piCore 10, would it be feasible to temporarily include the old piCore 9
repository as a third repository for extensions in pCP5 - beta mode
only, use at your own risk etc? Once the piCore folks get version 10
formally released, this old repository could then be removed.
