[SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 5.0 and wifi not connection to NAS

2019-07-06 Thread rocky2889

I am new to piCorePlayer after my squeezebox is dead. I am manage to
setup a RPI 3 B+ with 7" touchscreen. The installation went smoothly. I
can access my Synology NAS with ethernet connection. When I disconnect
the Ethernet cable and using the wifi.

The piCoreplayer cannot access the NAS, but I can access to the
piCorePlayer setting with wifi IP address. Is there anything I can
troubleshooting?

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support

2019-07-06 Thread Greg Erskine

hi Man in a van,

BTW: This is a BETA pCP6.0.0 thread.

What do you have in your config backup? It should be small. If its big
enough to trigger warning messages there is a problem. This will slow
down boots!

Look at the "diagnostics" log. [Main Page ] > [Dignostics] > [Logs],
select "diagnostics" scroll down to "Backup mydata"

regards
Greg

Please select "beta mode" then you will see a "Security option" which is
a new option on the "main" page.
Here you can change password - among other things.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 5.0.0

2019-07-06 Thread marcusw

hoi, after upgrade from 4.1 to 5.0 ( both as upgrade from 4.1 to 5.0
or fresh install from 5.0 image) my DAC502 PI HAT www pi2design com
/502dac.htmlis not working. In 4.1 I have to choose hifiberry dac
+ to get great sound. In 5.0 there is no choice for this. If i
choose hifiberry DAC I get no sound output, but everything looks ok (
sqeezelite is working). If i choose for hifiberry AMP , squeezelite
will not start.

I am now back to 4.1 and picoreplayer is working fine.

Any help from the developers?

thanks marcus

working on ideas to make settings transfer easier.

A 1B is like a turtle compared to the 4B.

2019-07-06 Thread Man in a van

Starting with this now. Thanks Team :)

I have had to make a few atemtps to connect to my Qnap NAS shared file,
but got there in the end.

I just had vers=3 in the options box in my working pCP on a rpi1B and
that connected fine.

On the rpi4B (4gb ram) I tried several times with different permutations
before finally connecting.

Whilst playing I tried resyncing my rpi1B and now can't get that to
connect .sigh:(

A reboot on the rpi1B takes nearly 3 mins

Oh well!
