Thanks Ralphy. I've made a bit of progress and managed to compile a version of the Thingiverse Knob software that works well with Jivelite just sending KEYCODE_SPACE, KEYCODE_MINUS, KEYCODE_EQUAL, and MMKEY_SCAN_PREV_TRACK and MMKEY_SCAN_NEXT_TRACK. It's not pretty but it works connected directly to a USB port. 30253 I've been following your suggestion for making it work with Squeezelite. I'm currently testing with a standard wired (not RF) USB keyboard and although inputlircd seems to be running OK the key presses don't seem to be getting through. On the tweaks page it shows LIRC as running, and on the IR page there is a prompt to Install LIRC. What did your lircd.conf and licrc files look like when you were testing the mini usb keyboard? Am I heading in the wrong direction? Thanks for your help. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Sonos + piCorePlayer v6 + SMB1
Why does Sonos need to connect via SMB to your pCP based server?SMB1 is likely not enabled in the conf, as it is long obsolete. You might be able to manually edit the smb.conf file to enable it, but then don't use the web interface to manage smb. https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/current/man-html/smb.conf.5.html piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. [SlimDevices: Unix] Sonos + piCorePlayer v6 + SMB1
Hi there, I am new here, and am using piCorePlayer on a Raspberry Pi 2 since a few weeks. I added some USB-Drives, and can access LMS with some Raspi Zeros and iPeng on my phone. Works great so far. Nice work, it's a great piece of software. Thanks for that! I configured Samba with some shares, which are visible and accessible on my Mac. So far, so good. However, I have an original Sonos, which seem to only support SMB1. If I try to add the share to my library in the Sonos-Software, it doesn't work. My question: Do I need to activate SMB1, and HOW can I activate SMB1? Thanks in advance! Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] How to Get my BIOS to Recognize a USB Drive
OK, I have found a solution, for booting from USB with unbuntu installed. I did some more searching on the Web and found a tool called 'Rufus' to create USB Bootable drives. It had the option to create 32 or 64 bit Clusters (Whatever they are), so I created a USB Drive with the same 'Mint' file that I had used with the 'UNetbootin' tool. The 'Rufus' created USB worked the first time with no problems at all. So - Case Closed. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer and On / Off software switch
Hi, I just had another look at the documentation plink provided by Paul. https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/9da67d7329873623bd5c13fae5835d76d5be8806/arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/README#L877 >From what I understand (I might be wrong...): - if you use GPIO 17 then it should work fine for a shutdown but then I suspect it won't work to power up. - The Pi can be powered up using a button on GPIO 3 (pin 5), hence the choice made in the tutorial you referred to. BUT, from the other forum thread, I understand that you need to disable I2C in PcP to allow for the button to be listened to on that pin... see link below to the post. You need to make the choice... https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109270-PiCore-Player-and-gpio-poweroff-gpio-shutdown-overlays&p=940096&viewfull=1#post940096 truscellino's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112136 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer and On / Off software switch
Hi, Yes exactly, if you want GPIO 17 then it's pin 11 + one pin with GND. In the tutorial you mentioned early in this thread, they used pins 5-6 because of choice of GPIO 3, hence the Python code provided: Code: GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setup(3, GPIO.IN, pull_up_down=GPIO.PUD_UP) GPIO.wait_for_edge(3, GPIO.FALLING) subprocess.call(['shutdown', '-h', 'now'], shell=False) The script included in PiCorePlayer replaces that Python and in the "Tweaks" you can select the type of button (active low or high) and the GPIO pin. I can't see much risk in trying, worst case it won't work... please let us know how it goes :) truscellino's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112136 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
