Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] No audio - PiCorePlanyer

2020-05-14 Thread paul-

You are correct, a zero is needed..For clarification, this setting
is only required on a PI4.

Squeezelite defaults to using mmap (memory addressing), and that mode
works just fine on all rpi/usb/i2s configurations, except onboard audio
on a pi4.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer

2020-05-14 Thread prabbit

Still curious about why Jivelite uses Custom Clock v1 instead of v2
(which was released in 2010).

I have downloaded the latest version from
https://github.com/erland/squeezebox-customclock. I tried copying files
to /home/tc/.jivelite/userpath/applets/CustomClock (taking a recent hint
from ralphy to me about the NowPlaying screen), but that resulted in
Custom Clock not working at all. Saving a backup and rebooting had no
effect.

One of the things I'm looking to add to my screensaver is ratingicon,
which is a Custom Clock 2.x feature. (Since ratingicon has url
attributes for images, my next question may be about how to get those
images into pCP...unless pulling image files from some location would be
better.)

What is the proper way to update the Custom Clock applet on pCP 6.0.0 to
the latest version?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] No audio - PiCorePlanyer

2020-05-14 Thread prabbit

I ran into the no audio issue myself. I fixed it for me by going to the
Squeezelite tab and changing the audio from "Analog" to anything else (I
chose HDMI). I saved my changes and rebooted (abundance of caution). I
then changed the audio setting back to Analog and rebooted again. After
that I had audio. I'm using the 3.5mm port as my output. If you're using
a DAC, then my solution may (probably won't) not work for you.

Tried that. Still no sound.

But I did find while searching through the threads here find reference
to a pCP Patch Update. Applied that.

Now I've got my phone streaming directly to the player without having to
use the stream in LMS. Cool!

Really, it was like that when I got here.

You have to think of your Bluetooth source as an internet radio stream
and ask LMS to play that stream URL (from the Tweaks page) on one of
your LMS players.

Thanks! I didn't realize that.

Running pCP 6 on a RPi3B+, I've the enabled the onboard Bluetooth,
installed and started up the pCP Bluetooth support, and enabled Streamer
for Audio Input under Tweaks.

I set the pCP to be discoverable on the Bluetooth page. I paired my
phone with it. Both the phone and the Bluetooth page on the pCP indicate
they're successfully paired.

also - that was my first use of a command line in other than in my

Well, it did have a 1 -- deleted the 1 to a blank. Didn't work,

put a 0 and that works perfectly!! (as you implied, the 1 was in as a

Whow, that helps. Found:
SMB Session Authentication Failure

Client Name: \\192.168.xxx.yy
Client Address: 192.168.1xxx.yyy:57844
User Name:
Session ID: 0x6C059459
Status: An invalid parameter was passed to a service or function.
(0xC00D)
SPN: session setup failed before the SPN could be queried
SPN Validation Policy: SPN optional / no validation

Guidance:

You should expect this error when attempting to connect to shares using
incorrect credentials.

This error does not always indicate a problem with authorization, but
mainly authentication. It is more common with non-Windows clients.

This error can occur when using incorrect usernames and passwords with
NTLM, mismatched LmCompatibility settings between client and server, an
incorrect service principal name, duplicate Kerberos service principal
names, incorrect Kerberos ticket-granting service tickets, or Guest
accounts without Guest access enabled

Looks like it's either a vers issue or just a typo (could have sworn i
used the right credentials). Will dig into this after the weekend.

I see plenty there's been a maturing capability to stream Bluetooth
audio *from* the piCorePlayer. But I would love the ability to stream
Bluetooth *to* the piCorePlayer from my phone.

I have several piCorePlayers in my home, and I'm adding one to the back
yard, wired to a couple of self-powered speakers. I would love the
ability to occasionally pair my phone to the piCorePlayer and stream
audio from my phone through the piCorePlayer.

Any chance this could be added to piCorePlayer?

Really, it was like that when I got here.

[SlimDevices: Unix] No audio - PiCorePlanyer

2020-05-14 Thread pbroughton

Need some help please!

Just 'built' a R pi -4 and installed pCP. My objective is to have it
become my server, but I am checking it with pCP only, first, to see how
it is as a player. I am using the 3.5mm jack and tried both a small
portable speaker and my ear phones, but can get no sound.

I have no red flags on the on the terminal view of pCP or the pCP main
page, have bumped up the vol, player is seen in current LMS server, LMS
screen shows progress on the song playing, Squeezelite says Analog
Audio.

I'm stumped. First experience with Pi, as is obvious!! Help!!
thanks,

[SlimDevices: Unix] Optimal settings for Amanero USB

2020-05-14 Thread nimnul

I use a RPi4 4gb and PCp6.00 and use USB to connect to a DAC w Amanero
Combo 384 USB input.
When I use the USBAudio setting in the drop down menu it plays well, but
the start of the song (1/10th of a second maybe) is cut off.
For example on New Orders - Blue Monday, the first drum beat is
missing.

So what are the optimal settings for Amanero Combo 384 in PCp

Maybe the Windows Event Viewer will show something.

Open Event Viewer (and wait for it to build a display) and then expand

Expand the Microsoft folder.
Expand the Windows folder.
Expand the SMBServer folder and then click the channels

Then if that does not provide the answer ... it might mean that you will
