Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCore Player and gpio-poweroff / gpio-shutdown overlays

2020-11-02 Thread Grumpy Bob

For starting up and shutting down my Raspberry Pi (a 3B+ running pCP
with LMS), I have set it up with one of the 'Pimoroni OnOff SHIMs'
(https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/onoff-shim). It looks as though you
can solder it directly to the GPIO pins and still fit a DAC HAT on top
(though I haven't done so). I have added a little momentary button
rather than use the tiny switch on the card itself - this lights up red
when the Pi is powered up. This seems to work well, and I've used it on
two Raspberry Pi based LMS servers, one intended to be portable, the
other for use in my office at work (if we ever return from working at
home).

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 6.x.x - Bluetooth

Squeezelite cannot start until the Bluetooth device is connected. So
you are in a catch22. You can initiate a connection from the pCP web
interface, that would start squeezelite automatically.

I think the simplest solution would be this:
https://howchoo.com/g/mwnlytk3zmm/how-to-add-a-power-button-to-your-raspberry-pi
But not sure how that would interfere with the Allo Boss DAC.

I have been using the 'RemotePi board' (https://www.msldigital.com),
although this does require some 'manual configuration'
in PcP. It has the advantage of adding an IR remote, which also controls
the power off and on.

Use a 38Khz type IR Receiver, Examples being TSOP38238 and TSOP38438
(There are other types that work fine) I personally use the TSOP38438

https://www.vishay.com/search?searchChoice=part=tsop38438

Wire this to 0V (Pin 20), +3v3 (Pin17) and GPIO25 (Pin 22) and then you
can use the default IR-Keytables in pCP

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCore Player and gpio-poweroff / gpio-shutdown overlays

2020-11-02 Thread Cured

Hello,

Im completely new here and have little technical knowledge. I
recently bought a Raspberry Pi with an Allo Boss 1.2 DAC. I managed to
get it running with PiCorePlayer and LMS. I was so proud!

Currently I use the webinterface of PiCorePlayer to shut it down and
then power it off by pulling the power plug. Of course that works fine
but Id rather have a switch to power on and off the
Raspberry/Allo Boss combo.

I already did some research on the web and found out that the
GPIO-connectors could be of some help. I already bought a normally open
button but I dont know how to connect it to the Allo Boss which
is on top of the Raspberry (I already soldered two female GPIO-wires to
it). Technical specs of the Allo Boss are available (since this is my
first post Im not allowed to insert a hyperlink to the document)
but I dont know which GPIO-connector of the J19 pins out on the
Boss can be used for the normally open button.

Can somebody help me out with this? E.g. is it a good idea to use a
normally open button? Is there some kind of guide to help me out? Thanks
in advance for your kind help.

Hello,
I use picoreplayer with jivelite. I use universal pc remote.
The player works with this remote with jivelite and with lirc ir setup
either.
BUT I would like to use my original squeezebox touch remote and I'm not
able to set it up.
1. Is the linked remote's usb receiver good to receive the original
squeezebox touch remote's signs? With jivelite ir or with lirc ir? Or
what else receiver should I use?
2. Can somebedy send/link a jivelite keytables file or lirc conf file
for the original squeezebox touch remote to be worked?
thanks,
Imre

Nothing should have changed. Is the card being detected?

You might need to check the volume setting. You will have to do that
through an ssh session and Alsa mixer. There are basic instructions on
the card control page.

[SlimDevices: Unix] Mono sound

2020-11-02 Thread strebor56

Hi, I have built a weather resistant pCP for a covered patio, all good.
A little fiddling was required to get the Output settings and the Alsa
ttable map to work but achieved using the web gui.
However adding in the 10 band eq removes the mono setting.
Has anybody got any experience they are willing to share on this?
