Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Stuck loading extensions on boot

2020-12-03 Thread Greg Erskine

I generally don't make extensions so I don't have to debug them!
Hopefully someone useful will come along.

Hi Greg. With showapps I can reach a console, but I can't see any useful
logs. I know the problem is my extension, but I don't understand why. Is
there any particular log should I check for error messages? Thanks

Add bootcode "showapps".

This should show which extension is the problem (but you probably

[SlimDevices: Unix] Stuck loading extensions on boot

2020-12-03 Thread emanue|e

Hi, i'm working on a personal rework based on Slimmer
(https://github.com/terba/slimmer), a display controller for LMS by
Terba.
I compiled my code directly on PI with success. So I created the tcz
extension with the tool mksquashfs and copyed tcz in /tce/optional.
After that i tce-load -i myextension to check if dependency are loaded
and if my extension works. All was OK and works as expected.
So i edit bootlocal.sh, onboot.lst and filetool.sh -b to save config.
But, when i reboot, PI stuck on boot step "loading extensions..", with
cursor rotating forever.
The only solution is to change bootcode adding "base" and manually
remove my extension from /optional.
I checked permission and owner and can't find any strange.

Maybe someone could help me with some ideas?

Thanks!
Emanuele

I think that would require quite a it more resources than the current
-very basic- pCP webinterface. (also "user friendly" depends on the
user. :p )

That tool exists, and seems to be installed on pCP when you install

my sincere apologies from all. i clean installed lms and all plugins and
sure enough everything works as expected. my suspicion is there was some

How do you trigger flc pcm rules when playing RP Flac interactive ? It
does not happen with "normal " settings.

Thank you!

I just found it a little counterintuitive that a certain transcoding
rule (flac pcm) may or may not apply depending on source (tidal or RP)

i did not mean to imply that pcm sounded better than flac or that RP did
not work.

The Interactive Radio Paradise Flac stream uses flc - flc . RP Main is
ogg/flac.

As seeks don't work - the only way I can see "flc flc transcoding" rule
being invoked is by resampling - but RP is 44.1kHz (I think) which is
supported by all players.
