Could it be a solution to setup a wifi hotspot on your phone, and have
the Pi connect to that when you're on the road?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer along side Raspbian?

2020-12-06 Thread truscellino

DietPi is another Debian-based distro with easy install of LMS,
squeezelite etc. and any other debian package.
Very few distros offer easy audio configuration as PCP does though...
Max2Play maybe? Personally I had always doubts about their licencing
policy and integration of open source components not clearly stated.

Here's the manual for irrecord: https://www.lirc.org/html/irrecord.html
It will guide you through the steps to create a lircd configuration
file, which you ca upload to pCP.

Alternativly you could check if the file is already available here:
http://lirc-remotes.sourceforge.net/remotes-table.html

This stuff all seems a bit old, but it worked fine for me.

2020-12-06 Thread Man in a van

@LEAFYGREENS
One can install LMS and Squeezelite on the Raspberry PI OS Desktop.

Control from smartphone or tablet using the Material skin.

Material skin will also work on the pi desktop.

I have previously installed Jivelite and Sqeezeplay (seperately) on the
old Rasbian desktop, but not on the new PI OS.
