Speaker is default. Just the way I started. Lms being the source.

I boot my 3B+ From usb. Likely you need to increase the waitusb value
on the kernel command line.

Squeezelite can be controlled with ir without jivelite being installed.

I don't know - but with those limited functions that do not rely on real
navigation then I suppose it could work.
Are you trying to control a player that is not on this device?
If yes - then that could be a problem if Jivelite has switched to a
different player.

Can you reconnect a screen to watch what is happening?

Year. Is this not possible? I need to control the radio with a remote.
Only on/off and stations selection with 1-9 buttons.

Are you saying that you are trying to control Jivelite with a remote -
but without any screen connected?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Howto create a linux kernel IR remote keytable for Jivelite on piCorePlayer 5

2021-05-10 Thread Brookaz

I'm really disappointed with how the remote part works with jivelive
enabled... I don't know what's going on since i'm running my pibox
headless but the remote doesnt work. I have jivelite enabled, it's
supposedly running, my harmony remote was programmed to work with flirc.
And about a month ago when I set it up and still had pi connected to my
tv to see whats going on it was working. Now I found a pair of speakers,
connected them and the remote doesnt work. It's not plug friendly
enough for my wife that needs the remote to work to switch it on/off and
cycle between saved stations.

Am I doing something wrong, should I switch to LIRC? ralphy wrote an
excellent guide in post '#44'

It's also a bit more complicated than just enabling jivelite. But is it
more foolproof and plug friendly once set up?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 6.x.x - Bluetooth

2021-05-10 Thread Spev

Hi

First off, I've recently migrated from Moode to pcp/lms for home audio
management, so a big thanks for the software, impressed so far.

I have a question re bluetooth devices - when I connect my phone and
look in the paired devices list it defaults to "speaker", I'm just
wondering what the most normal use case for bluetooth is here?
Shouldn't the default be "player"? Otherwise I have to go into the
player config every time a phone connects to bluetooth and change the
device, which is a bit unwieldly. Certainly no one else in the house
would know to do that.

FYI, while I was testing bluetooth I couldn't get it to start unless the
wifi was also switched on. This is a pi 3B+ using the latest pcp
build.

Another FYI, I have another 3B+ with a damaged sd card slot, so it boots
from usb stick. I couldn't get the latest pcp build to boot at all, but
did manage to get the prior version to work.

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer on Pi : problem to access remote NFS drive

2021-05-10 Thread Paul Webster

That makes sense.

Given that this is for a CIFS mount then adding a username/password
might help if not tried. Would need to be credentials that are
recognised in the remote system.

If memory serves the UID/GID mapping is for the local system, the one
doing the mounting, the remote system still uses its own permissions and
the login username can be separate from them. You can use it when user
don't match or you can use the 'noperm' option.
