Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
I've set pCP/jivelite to return to the NowPlaying screen after x seconds without interaction (is it called the screensaver setting?). And I've noticed that this 'screensaver setting' doesn't apply to the NowPlaying's current playlist screen - which makes sense. Do you think you could add another exception for the *lyrics* submenu? Right now it's really hard to following the lyrics of a track when the screensaver kicks in again and again after x seconds (though I do want the screensaver to do just that anywhere else). Thank you. afriend's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39306 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer and wifi Access Point in Bridge mode
epoch1970, I reflashed the SD card to pCP 7, 32 bit, installed in a rP1 4b and went through the updates and setup and it works as you said. Once more the 64 bit pCP 7 is not quite up to speed (my Allo Boss2 initially needed pCP 7 32 bit to work) no big deal. >From a former life in IT project management I would suggest that there is too much variation creeping in, stick with only one flavour of pCP. The Raspberry OS is only in 32bit. Very convenient to have a WAP on my bench that also plays music and can be powered off at the mains rather than having to SSH in and sudo shutdown. Paul, again, thank you for getting this going and if you need testing , just ask. A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite on a Pirate Audio 240x240 screen
Hi, I had a pcp6 on a Zero with Pirate Audio that I upgraded to pcp7.0.0 today. Some additional tweaks that weren't obvious to me. Rotate screen: in config.txt (see 'instructions in post 348' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111502-Jivelite-on-a-Pirate-Audio-240x240-screen&p=971970&viewfull=1#post971970)) change Code: dtoverlay=st7789v-spi to Code: dtoverlay=st7789v-spi,rotation=180 This was pointed out by Paul- in 'this post' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111502-Jivelite-on-a-Pirate-Audio-240x240-screen&p=981908&viewfull=1#post981908) but since st7789 is not in the overlays/README it's good to look at Paul's post. I never got the LCD to switch off when powering down Squeezelite from the Logitech Media Server web interface. I settled for running a script (in Squeezelite Settings > Change Squeezelite Settings > Power on/off script) that sets the PWM on pin 13 either at 0 (off) or a predefined number (on.) I wanted to switch the screen on/off by toggling a GPIO. >From 'this schematic' (https://pinout.xyz/pinout/pirate_audio_line_out) I gather the LCD is always on, i.e. one cannot switch it off by toggling a pin. I would like to have the Pi put out boot messages on the LCD, it was surprisingly useable for that, but I can't remember how I did that on pcp6. nincompoop's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69805 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111502 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

You're correct. There is a glitch in the matrix, you should just disregard the "AP IP Address" field. The field is mandatory so set it to a random address on an unused network or leave it to its default value if possible. PCP7 works indeed in bridged AP mode. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Do I need to start LMS if I want to use PiCorePlayer as a player only?
Starting LMS is not needed. That is referring to LMS running on your pCP ... which it probably is not doing ... assuming you want to keep using the LMS on your other server. If this is to be a player-only pCP then click on the player tab at the bottom of the screen then the confusing LMS info will disappear. Thanks Paul for your input. I am not sure if I was clear in my question. I meant after installing pCP, I go on the Squeezelite Setting and set the DAC and the name of the player. But, do I need to go on the LMS tab, install LMS and start it, or starting LMS isn't needed? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Do I need to start LMS if I want to use PiCorePlayer as a player only?
In theory it (Squeezelite) could use the LMS in the sky that is mysqueezebox.com - however, ISTR that it does not because mysqueezebox.com wants to see real Squeezebox hardware players. So ... yes ... you should start an LMS locally and the one on your Openmediavault should be fine for that. [SlimDevices: Unix] Do I need to start LMS if I want to use PiCorePlayer as a player only?
Greetings to all, I installed LMS on my Openmediavault server and it works fine. I installed Squeezelite on a Pi4 running Raspbian Pi4 to stream from my LMS. It works, but I found pCP setting more practical than the Squeezelite by SSH! My question is: if I want to run pCP as a player only, do I still need to start LMS? Thanks for your help. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer and wifi Access Point in Bridge mode
I tried a rPi 3b and was able to get that to work, sort of. My laptop could see the test network but not connect. WiFi Analyzer showed the SSID but the signal level seemed to drop after a few minutes. Had another go with the rPi 4b, still no luck. Googled Raspberry Pi wifi Access Point and found https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/access-point-bridged.md , so downloaded the latest rPi OS (not called Raspbian anymore) flashed it to a spare card and set it up on the rPi 4b. Worked first go. Now, where are the config files that are set up on piCorePlayer ? A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. I suspect you do it by adding it to cmdline.txt in the boot partition since it is not explicitly listed in "Extras/Bootcodes" Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Ok so how does one do that? The "User Commands" seem to run after LMS so I'm guessing that's no good.
